Established in 2023, the Creator’s Corner presented by U.S. Bank brings local woman- and BIPOC-owned businesses to Target Field. This dedicated retail space inside the ballpark’s most highly trafficked entrance welcomes a trio of small businesses to sell their products to fans throughout the season. The Twins and U.S. Bank collaborate with these companies to promote and sell their products while making a financial investment to fuel the growth of their businesses.
Through the Twins Economic Advancement in the Marketplace (TEAM) initiative, we are leveraging our partnerships and platform to elevate women- and BIPOC-owned businesses. The TEAM initiative brings together industry-leading expertise for these small businesses to gain visibility and support specific to the products, missions, and histories that make them unique.
One dollar, one entrepreneur, and one small business at a time, these programs are an important part of our efforts to level the playing field and advance economic vitality within our community.
The Twins Game Changers program annually highlights three diverse-owned small businesses making a difference by giving back. Working with broadcast partner Bally Sports North, we leverage the Twins’ media and in-game platforms to highlight these founders’ stories of leadership and commitment to strengthening their communities.
In partnership with Delaware North Sportservice, we dedicate concessions space to spotlight local chefs and entrepreneurs. Beyond traditional ballpark fare, Target Field brings local flavors into the ballpark and introduces millions of fans each season to local restaurants like Union Hmong Kitchen, Soul Bowl, and La Tapatia representing the rich diversity of cuisine in Twins Territory.
The Minnesota Twins Accelerator by Techstars provides a unique opportunity for minority-owned startups to learn from industry-leading experts in sports and entertainment technology. Each year’s class of 10 startups receives funding, mentorship, and robust support to become self-sufficient businesses. More than 60 percent of our founders self-identify as BIPOC, and in just the first two years of the program, the Twins have invested more than $1.2 million in startups founded by historically underrepresented groups.
