GREEN INITIATIVATES FOR A THRIVING PLANET
Beyond the excitement of baseball games, Target Field stands as a testament to the Twins’ vision—proving that an entertainment facility can be a pioneer in sustainable practices, demonstrating a commitment to environmental responsibility, and inspiring fans to be champions for the very planet that sustains us.
HOW WE GO GREEN
Waste Diversion
More than 99% of waste at Target Field is diverted from landfills, and leftover concessions food is donated to local nonprofits. Fans help make Target Field MLB’s greenest ballpark by responsibly disposing of waste in compost or recycling bins.
Compostable Packaging
Eco-friendly packaging promotes sustainability at concessions. Nearly all concessions packaging at Target Field is compostable thanks to ReRoute Americas, our Official Composting Partner.
Rainwater Recycling
Our one-of-a-kind Pentair system captures rainwater and reuses it for ballpark maintenance, saving more than 20 million gallons since Target Field opened.
Transportation
Target Field is ideally situated for pedestrian or bike access, and is more accessible by public transit than any other ballpark in America.
Energy Efficiency
Target Field is almost fully lit by LED lighting, and we have a state-of-the-art energy conservation system to regulate temperature throughout the facility in the most energy efficient manner.
Community Outreach
Education programs like Learning Through Baseball and community partnerships help inspire Twins Territory to be champions for our planet.
