TORONTO -- After allowing five earned runs over three innings in a 7-3 loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday, the Orioles placed starter Kyle Bradish on the 15-day injured list, likely ending his 2026 season.
Bradish heads to the IL with lower abdominal discomfort, the team announced on Sunday morning. In a corresponding move, Baltimore recalled right-hander Yaramil Hiraldo from Triple-A Norfolk.
It’s been a tough few weeks for Bradish, who has allowed at least five earned runs in three of his last nine starts. Over that same span, he failed to get through five innings five times.
The right-hander has carried a heavy workload in his first full season back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in June 2024. Following Saturday’s outing, Bradish had thrown 155 innings after logging just 32 in 2025 and 39 1/3 in ‘24.
But Bradish was quick to downplay fatigue being a factor in how he has pitched of late.
“No,” Bradish said postgame Saturday when asked if the increase in innings was a reason for his recent performances. “My arm feels great.”
Following Sunday’s 8-1 loss to the Blue Jays in the series finale at Rogers Centre, manager Craig Albernaz admitted Bradish had been dealing with the issue for a bit.
“He’s going to fly to Baltimore and get some imaging done,” Albernaz said.
He wouldn’t tip his hand as to who may take Bradish’s spot in the rotation, simply saying it was “TBD.”
The Orioles’ rotation currently features left-hander Trevor Rogers, who started Sunday’s game, and right-handers Brandon Young, Shane Baz and Chris Bassitt.
