BALTIMORE -- With inclement weather slated for the Baltimore area throughout the evening on Thursday, the series finale between the Orioles and Blue Jays was preemptively postponed. The teams will make up the game as part of a traditional single-admission doubleheader on Saturday, Sept. 11 beginning at 4:35 p.m. ET. Game 2 will begin approximately 45 minutes after the first game concludes.

The postponement shouldn’t alter the Orioles’ pitching plans much. They will still start the same three scheduled starters -- Jorge López, Thomas Eshelman, and Spenser Watkins -- in their upcoming three-game weekend series against the White Sox. The decision effectively skips rookie lefty Keegan Akin, who was lined up to serve as the bulk pitcher behind opener Dillon Tate on Thursday.

The Blue Jays are merely bumping their entire rotation back a day: Alek Manoah starts Friday against the Rays, with Ross Stripling on Saturday and Robbie Ray on Sunday. The Orioles and Jays split the first two games of their series this week in Baltimore. Toronto leads the season series 6-3.

Tickets for Thursday’s postponed game will not be automatically honored for the Sept. 11 doubleheader. Fans can exchange the value of their tickets from the Thursday, July 8, game towards any remaining home game this season, including the September 11 doubleheader, based on availability.

Original ticket purchasers will be contacted via email with details on their best option to exchange, the club said. Fans holding tickets for the originally scheduled 7:05 p.m. game on Sept. 11, should use those tickets for both games of the doubleheader.

Complimentary tickets are non-exchangeable.

Fans who purchased tickets on StubHub for tonight’s game will need to contact StubHub regarding their policy for postponed events.

Both games of the doubleheader will be broadcast on MASN and on the Orioles Radio Network, including the flagship station 105.7 The Fan.
