Game Changers

The Chicago White Sox continue the eighth season of the team’s event series, Game Changers, presented by Modelo Especial® and Saint Xavier University. Celebrating and empowering underrepresented communities through photographers’ diverse visual perspectives, this year’s programming will be complemented with a Game Changers Summit scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

Since 2016, the Game Changers series has featured leading community voices in panel discussions focused on creating meaningful change and empowering diverse community groups. Recent Summit programming includes “Strengthening the Body AND Mind in Sports Culture*” in 2023 and *“Empowering Voices for Social Impact” in 2024. These capstone events centered around cultivating modern-day workplace cultures that prioritize employees’ mental wellbeing and the importance of championing DEI initiatives.

The White Sox Game Changers series also has showcased compelling stories about sports and culture through the work of local artists who identify within the African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Latino communities. Following mural pieces created by artists Asend™️, Edo and Murrz, the organization commissioned artwork for home plate and base designs by Jeff Pak, Nikko Washington and MATR.
