White Sox announce three roster moves

CHICAGO - Prior to today’s series finale vs. Boston, the Chicago White Sox made the following three roster moves:

  • Optioned to Class AAA Charlotte (1): RHP Nick Nastrini;
  • Contract Selected from Charlotte (1): LHP Sammy Peralta;
  • Returned from Rehabilitation Assignment at Charlotte, Reinstated from 60-Day Injured List and Designated for Assignment (1): LHP Shane Drohan.

Nastrini, 24, posted a no decision in yesterday’s 6-1 victory over the Red Sox, allowing one run on two hits with five walks and five strikeouts over 4.1 IP. He is 0-5 with a 8.39 ERA (23 ER/24.2 IP) over six starts this season, his first in the major leagues.

Peralta, 26, has thrown 3.2 scoreless IP over three relief appearances with Charlotte this season, allowing no hits and no walks with five strikeouts since being reacquired off waivers from Seattle on May 26. He appeared in 16 games with the White Sox in 2023, going 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA (9 ER/20.0 IP) and 18 strikeouts.

Peralta will wear uniform No. 67.

Drohan, 25, began the season on the injured list following left shoulder nerve decompression surgery. He has appeared in 10 rehabilitation games with the Arizona Complex League White Sox, Class A Winston-Salem and Charlotte.

Drohan was claimed by the White Sox in the MLB phase of the Rule 5 Draft on December 6, 2023.

Following the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster is at 40.
