The White Sox have an agreement in place with 2019 first-round Draft pick (No. 3 overall) Andrew Vaughn for a signing bonus of $7,221,200 -- the full slot value -- a source told MLB Pipeline's Jonathan Mayo on Wednesday.

The club announced the signing on Friday, but terms were not disclosed.

Vaughn, a first baseman out of Cal, won the Golden Spikes Award as a sophomore in 2018 and was a finalist again this year, with catcher Adley Rutschman -- who went first overall to the Orioles and received a record $8.1 million signing bonus -- taking home the honor.

As a junior in 2019, Vaughn batted .381 with 14 doubles, 15 home runs, 50 RBIs, 49 runs scored, 59 walks, a .544 on-base percentage, a .716 slugging percentage and a 1.260 OPS in 52 games.

The White Sox grabbed Vaughn with the No. 3 overall pick after Rutschman was taken first by Baltimore out of Oregon State and the Royals selected high school shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. second.

Chicago also announced signings of second-round selection right-handed pitcher Matthew Thompson and third-round pick right-hander Andrew Dalquist.
