Mitchell's Tap 3356 S. Halsted St., is a family-owned bar that boasts the neighborhood's most extensive and ever-changing beer selection. The friendly crowd can be found playing darts or video games, enjoying the beer garden or listening to live music most weekends.

Morrie O'Malley's 3501 S. Union Ave., is a seasonal grill with counter space inside and picnic tables out front. The menu features burgers, hot dogs and the neighborhood's best ice cream.

Polo Cafe and Catering 3322 S. Morgan St., is a casual restaurant with a fine-dining menu that's housed in a former confectionary and candy store. The cafe now serves certified Angus beef steaks that rival the city's great steakhouses, but the desserts set it apart.

Reggie's Music Joint 2105 S. State St., is a bar and grill featuring live local music, flat-screen TVs, 24 draft brews, 30 bottles of specialty beers and plenty of comfort food. Enjoy a side of indie rock with your burger!

Ricobene's Pizzeria 252 W. 26th St., features fast-food favorites like: chili dogs, pizza by the slice and the local favorite, breaded steak sandwiches. Their fast service is perfect for the on-the-go White Sox fan.

Shinnick's Pub 3758 S. Union Ave., an Irish bar known as a police and firefighter hangout, boasts a beautiful bar with old-time tavern decor and a lively atmosphere. The bar is third-generation family-owned and has great beer specials most days.
