Leeya Rose Jackson is an Art Director, Artist, Illustrator and Designer from Detroit, MI, living in North Minneapolis. She runs an illustration shop under her moniker, Leeya Makes Noise, and is the Creative Founder of Noisemakers Design Shop. Leeya is driven by the notion of making art and media that are loud, bold, honest and celebratory of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ identities. Distinctive features of her work across all mediums are loud, vibrant color, maximalism and Afro-futurism. She has practiced painting for 15 years, earning her BFA in Fine Art from Illinois Wesleyan University. She has exhibited in Florence, Italy, Detroit MI; California; Minneapolis; Fargo, ND; and Boston, MA. She is a member of the Minneapolis artist community, Roho Collective, and the recipient of the Public Functionary Studios Program. Her artwork has been commissioned by The Mall of America, The Four Seasons Minneapolis, On the Block Festival, and The University of Minnesota.
