Senior Vice President, General Manager
Thad Levine was hired by the Twins as Senior Vice President, General Manager in November of 2016. Thad partners with President of Baseball Operations, Derek Falvey, to lead all facets of the Twins’ baseball operations, including major league operations, scouting, player development and player procurement. He was named to Twin Cities Business’ list of “100 People to Know” in 2018.
Levine spent 11 seasons as Assistant General Manager for the Texas Rangers, a position he held since October of 2005. In that role, he assisted Rangers President of Baseball Operations/General Manager Jon Daniels with all responsibilities of major league operations, including player acquisitions, roster composition, contract negotiations, and statistical and financial analyses; he also oversaw Texas’ International Scouting department. Prior to his time with the Rangers, Levine spent six seasons as Senior Director, Baseball Operations for the Colorado Rockies and, prior to that, was Colorado’s Director of Baseball Administration (2002-04) and the team’s Assistant Director of Baseball Administration (1999-2002).
Thad went to the Rockies from Los Angeles, where he worked one season for the Dodgers (business development) and earned an MBA from UCLA in 1999. He has marketing experience with Coca-Cola, the Rockport Company and Reebok, Ltd.
Levine has served on the Board of Directors for several nonprofit entities.
Born in Alexandria, VA, Levine earned a bachelor’s degree in 1994 from Haverford (PA) College, where he played baseball. Thad fulfilled some of his graduate work for his MBA from UCLA while abroad in Cape Town, South Africa.
Thad and his wife, Claudette, reside in Edina, MN, with their three children, Greta, Tess and Quinn.
