Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer
Kip Elliott enters his 33rd year with the Twins in 2024 and was named to his current title on December 21, 2016. He was previously Executive Vice President, Business Administration and Chief Financial Officer since January of 2012, after serving as Chief Financial Officer since January of 1999.
Elliott joined the Twins in May of 1992 as Accounting Manager and held the position of Controller from 1995-98. He was named Senior Vice President on August 28, 2006. He was employed by the public accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand from 1989-92.
Elliott, who was named the 2010 “CFO of the Year” by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, is responsible for overseeing the Twins’ finance, human resources, procurement, technology and ballpark operations departments, including management of the organization’s annual financial reporting and its financial relationship with Major League Baseball. As part of the senior management team, he also plays a key role in the structuring and implementation of the club’s strategic plan, as well as the ongoing facility planning for Target Field, the Lee Health Sports Complex and the player-development Academy in the Dominican Republic.
Elliott serves as a trustee on MLB’s Non-Uniformed Personnel Pension Plan Committee and the Minor League Baseball Health & Welfare Plan, and is a member of MLB’s Insurance Task Force. Additionally, he serves on the Meet Minneapolis Board of Directors, participates in the MLB – ACP Military Mentoring Program, is a member of the University of Northern Iowa Accounting Advisory Council and serves on the Finance Committee of the Hudson Hockey Association.
Elliott, a certified public accountant, was raised in rural Fredericksburg, IA, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Northern Iowa in 1989.
