The Twins and the Twins Community Fund on Monday unveiled the details for TwinsFest at Target Field. The event is scheduled to run from Jan. 19-21, and it will give fans the opportunity to enjoy "exclusive and intimate baseball experiences."
More than 60 current, former and future Twins players are expected to be at the event, which is the largest annual fundraiser for the Minnesota Twins Community Fund. Over the past 27 years, TwinsFest has raised over $4.8 million for various programs supported by the organization.
"Over the years, TwinsFest has earned its reputation for being one of our region's greatest midwinter traditions," Twins president and CEO Dave St. Peter said in a statement. "We look forward to TwinsFest being back at Target Field as we continue to build excitement for the start of the 2018 season. Most importantly, this event will once again raise significant proceeds for the Twins Community Fund and its many worthwhile programs across Twins Territory."
Fans will have the chance to meet Twins players and personnel as they sign autographs and allow for photo opportunities. The event will also feature a sports memorabilia and collector's show.
Special panel discussions, self-guided clubhouse tours and the opportunity to take batting practice in the Twins' batting cages gives fans the time to put themselves in the shoes of big leaguers for a weekend.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Cyber Monday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. CT, costing $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and younger. Ticket purchases can be made online at www.twinsbaseball.com, by phone at (612) 33-TWINS and at the Target Field Box Office. The event times are as follows: Friday, Jan. 19 from 4-9:30 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 20 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 21 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
