Rays: Vidal Bruján, 2B (MLB No. 37), Triple-A Durham
As hot as Bruján was in May, this month has been less kind. The 23-year-old entered Saturday’s contests 7-for-47 in June, including a 1-for-24 stretch that had dropped his average 58 points to .257. However, he rebounded with a homer and three hits Saturday before going deep again and doubling in four at-bats in Durham’s win Sunday afternoon. Despite his recent struggles, Bruján has lived up to billing as one of baseball’s best young prospects, batting .274/.363/.514 with 17 extra-base hits, 25 RBIs and 14 stolen bases.
