Royals: Bobby Witt Jr, SS (MLB No. 3), Triple-A Omaha
Witt Jr. drove in three and tallied three extra-base hits -- two doubles and a home run -- in a 3-for-5 performance. The Royals’ No. 1 prospect started things off with a two-run bomb on the first pitch he saw, his 27th dinger of the season and 11th since getting the call to Triple-A. He added an RBI double in the fourth and came around to score after a leadoff double in the sixth, giving him his first game with Omaha with three extra-base hits and third overall on the season. Nationals: Keibert Ruiz, C (MLB No. 19), Triple-A Rochester
Talk about déjà vu. For a second consecutive game, Ruiz left the building twice, clubbing two home runs on Wednesday with four RBIs after smacking two on Tuesday. Amazingly enough, this was the sixth time this season Ruiz has gone yard multiple times in the same game, including a three-homer outburst on July 23. Regardless of where Ruiz has played, he has torn up Triple-A pitching. Reds: Hunter Greene, RHP (MLB No. 27), Triple-A Louisville
Greene wasn’t as purely dominant as he has been in past starts, but he still put together another quality outing. The flamethrower shook off his worst outing with Louisville to allow no runs and only two hits across five innings with three strikeouts. Greene initially struggled upon being called up to Louisville, but he has gotten acclimated just fine in recent weeks. Over his past seven starts, Greene has a 2.57 ERA across 35 innings with 44 strikeouts (11.3 K/9). Reds prospect stats »

Braves: Kyle Muller, LHP (No. 5), Triple-A Gwinnett
Muller continued his stellar pitching since rejoining Gwinnett, throwing six shutout innings in a second consecutive start. In two starts since being optioned to Triple-A, Muller hasn’t allowed a run in 12 innings with eight strikeouts. Muller has oscillated between Gwinnett and the Braves for much of this season and in 11 Triple-A starts he has a 3.42 ERA across 53 1/3 innings. Braves prospect stats »

Brewers: Joe Gray, OF (No. 9), High-A Wisconsin
The theme of the day has been multihomer games and Gray joined in on the fun, smacking two long balls, both two-run shots, in a single game for the first time in his professional career. Gray has struggled to replicate the same power that he showed with Low-A Carolina -- 12 homers in 51 games -- but Wednesday was an encouraging step forward. Cubs: Alexander Canario, OF (No. 12), High-A South Bend
Canario hasn’t been shy about showing off his power since he was traded to the Cubs organization and it was once again on display as he clubbed two homers, including a grand slam. Along with the two dingers, Canario’s six RBIs were a career-high as well. Just a couple weeks ago, Canario impressed by homering in four consecutive games. D-backs: Brandon Pfaadt, RHP (No. 26), Double-A Amarillo
Pfaadt seems to be adjusting to Double-A quite well. In his second start with Amarillo, he threw seven scoreless innings with no walks and three strikeouts. The right-hander has quickly risen through the ranks this season. Pfaadt began the season with Low-A Visalia, earned a promotion to High-A Hillsboro in late-June, then earned his latest promotion to Amarillo last week. In 18 starts across those three levels, Pfaadt has a 2.60 ERA with 136 strikeouts across 110 2/3 innings. D-backs prospect stats »

Giants: Patrick Bailey, C (No. 8), Low-A San Jose
Bailey might be starting to heat up, recording his second consecutive three-hit game with a homer, two doubles and two RBIs. Along with this being his second straight three-hit game, it’s also his second straight two-double game. Over these past two games, Bailey’s batting average with San Jose has jumped 40 points (.233 to .273) and his OPS has increased 119 points (.747 to .866). Giants prospect stats »

Phillies: Luis Garcia, SS (No. 9), Low-A Clearwater
Garcia had himself a busy day at the plate in Clearwater’s doubleheader sweep of Tampa. Across both games, the middle infielder went a combined 4-for-8 with two singles, a triple, a homer and six RBIs. Down 4-1 in the sixth in Game 1, the 20-year-old smacked a ball into right and legged out a triple to bring his team within one. After Clearwater took the lead one batter later, Garcia provided some insurance in the seventh with his ninth homer of the year to make it a 6-4 contest. In Game 2, Garcia drove in three on two singles and added a walk in the Threshers’ 13-6 rout. He is slashing .302/.348/.558 in the past 10 games. Phillies prospect stats »

Rays: Brent Honeywell Jr., RHP (No. 22), Triple-A Durham
Honeywell cleared a significant milestone as he builds back up as a starter, pitching at least six innings in a game for the first time since Aug. 19, 2017. The right-hander needed only 69 pitches to finish those six frames, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out five. After allowing a single with two outs in the second inning, Honeywell retired the final 13 batters he faced. Workman continued his recent hot stretch with a three-hit night, smacking two doubles and hitting his seventh home run of the season. The infielder struggled in his first couple weeks with West Michigan, but has started to heat up as of late. In his past nine games, Workman is 13-for-32 with a homer, five RBI and six doubles.
