Coordinator of Research & Development/Pitching Development
Brandon Nelson is in his fifth season with the Royals and first as the Coordinator of Research & Development/Pitching Development. He previously served as the Royals’ Analyst for Research & Development/Player Development for two seasons after joining the organization in 2020 as a Player Development Coach in Omaha. In his new role, Brandon will help oversee R&D and Pitching initiatives at both the Major and Minor League levels.
Brandon graduated from Willamette University in 2019 with a degree in Computer Science and minors in Mathematics and Economics. During his time at Willamette, Brandon was a pitcher for the baseball team and a Sports Information Assistant for the athletic department. A native of Murrieta, California, he now resides in Overland Park, Kansas, with his wife, Reanna.
