"Field of Dreams" MLB | Texas Rangers All-Star Legacy Field Turf Replacement – This project at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy included leveling the field and installing repurposed turf from Globe Life Field, which was used during the 2023 World Series. The upgrades also featured new fencing, netting, scoreboards, shade structures over existing bleachers, and brand-new dugouts, significantly enhancing field quality and allowing more children to play safely despite rain. Last year, the Rangers Youth Academy lost over two months of play due to rainouts. With nearly 5,000 participants annually and 125,000 since its opening, enrollment is expected to increase following this transformative project.
All-Star Legacy Initiative
Major League Baseball, the Texas Rangers, and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation announced the 2024 All-Star Legacy initiative, which aimed to create a lasting impact in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington communities. Through this initiative, Major League Baseball, as part of the MLB Together platform (www.MLBTogether.com), along with the Texas Rangers and several long-standing community partners, invested nearly $7 million in projects focused on expanding access to baseball and softball for young people, while also supporting veterans and diverse local communities.
Field Renovation at Senter Park – renamed “MLB | Texas Rangers All-Star Legacy Park” – aimed to enhance the baseball experience at Arlington’s historic park by renovating facilities to better serve local youth leagues and increase access for youth from diverse and low-income backgrounds. The project, completed in partnership with the City of Arlington, Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, Optimist Club of Arlington, Graham Civil, Paragon Sports Construction, and 2023 World Series MVP Corey Seager and his wife Mady, brought new upgrades to the community, leveling the playing field and encouraging youth baseball.
Most Inclusive Workout – Adaptive Training Foundation – With Texas home to more veterans than any other state, MLB, the Rangers Foundation, and the Rangers organization honor and support those who serve. In 2022, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation awarded Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF) a 50th Anniversary Legacy Grant. ATF provides physical and mental rehabilitation for veterans and individuals facing severe injuries, such as paralysis or amputation. Their programs promote sustainable health and lifestyle changes, improving personal wellness and relationships. Currently, participants travel to ATF’s North Texas gym with housing and expenses covered. The Foundation’s legacy gift funds a mobile training lab, expanding ATF's reach across Texas. MLB and the Rangers will also sponsor several adaptive athletes through ATF’s ReDefine program, offering 9 weeks of personalized physical and mental training, onsite physical therapy, nutrition, transportation, housing, and a one-week adaptive outdoor recreation trip—all free of charge.
