Signed by Boston as an International free agent on July 2, 2013, by Red Sox scouts Eddie Romero and Angel Escobar... Full name is Enmanuel José de Jesús.

2022

Enmanuel De Jesús was signed by San Francisco as a Minor League free agent prior to the 2022 season... Spent the entire season with Triple-A Sacramento. Went 4-5 with a 4.51 ERA (101.2 IP/59 ER) in 35 games (19 starts)... As a starter, owned a 4.29 ERA (77.2 IP/37 ER) and a 5.25 ERA (24.0 IP/14 ER) as a reliever... Recorded 118 strikeouts and 51 walks, for an average of 10.4 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched... In seven relief appearances in August, allowed one run on 10 hits in 9.1 innings with one walk and 10 strikeouts... Made six appearances with Estrellas de Orientales in the Dominican Winter League following the season. Allowed eight runs on 12 hits in 15.0 innings pitched (4.80 ERA) with 24 strikeouts and six walks. Surrendered three home runs... Began the year at Triple-A for the first time in his career.

Was used primarily as a starter in Boston's minor league system until 2021...had made 13 total relief outings entering 2021 and then made 13 in 2021...Began the year at Double-A for the first time in his career...six of his eight starts with the Sea Dogs came in his first eight appearances...Pitched almost exclusively out of the bullpen after July 1 except for a spot start July 14 and one July 25 for Triple-A Worcester, his first career Triple-A outing...Went 3-0 with a 2.35 ERA (8er, 30.2ip) and 40 strikeouts in his 13 relief appearances for Portland...was 2-2 with a 5.72 ERA in his eight starts...Nine of his 13 relief outings were multi-inning appearances.
