Monica Clark is the Coordinator of Youth Baseball and Softball Development at the Philadelphia Phillies, where she works to grow the games of baseball and softball throughout Philadelphia and southern New Jersey. In this role, Clark leads the Phillies' efforts on the softball side in furtherance of Major League Baseball's initiative, RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities). She has helped to grow female participation in softball from 200 players to over 1,600 players.
Clark also oversees the Phillies Urban Youth Academy softball program, which provides opportunities to female student-athletes in Philadelphia to compete year-round in a competitive travel softball program free of charge. The Urban Youth Academy teams receive elite training from professional coaches and players and compete across the country in tournaments and MLB sanctioned events.
Clark played an integral role in planning the inaugural Philadelphia Sports Girls Initiative in 2023. This event brought together all six Philadelphia professional sports teams, giving girls in Philadelphia an unprecedented and unparalleled opportunity to learn all six sports in one day. Clark also oversees the Philadelphia Phillies Ballgirls program which is comprised of 20 women who work on and off the field during Phillies home games and who participate in over 150 community events each year, including softball clinics for girls throughout the tri-state area.
Clark, a former Division 1 softball player at Rider University, understands the role sports can play in a young woman's life and works tirelessly to provide meaningful, and often life-changing, opportunities for women student-athletes in the Delaware Valley.
