Candy also sells “Play of the Day” NFTs. The Play of the Day is a limited edition Candy NFT collectible that features the best play out of all games that take place on a given day, as determined by MLB.

Candy recently completed the “MLB Stadium Series”. This collection featured NFTs for each of MLB's 30 teams. The NFTs featured images of every iconic MLB Stadium created by renowned digital artist S. Preston. For collectors that purchased and collected all 30 MLB stadiums a reward was given in the form of a NFT & S. Preston physical print of all 30 stadiums.

Previously, Candy released the first-ever World Series NFTs in partnership with the defending champion, Los Angeles Dodgers. This Project raised nearly $130,000 for the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. The winner of the Single Edition World Series Championship Ring NFT also received a 2020 World Series Ring and a first-pitch opportunity at a Dodgers game.

Currently, our most accessible collectible is Play of the Day starting at $25.00 USD per NFT in the regular season. To date, our most highly valued collectible is the Shoehei Ohtani 1-of-1 Legendary NFT sold for $100,000.00 USD on January 27, 2022. This set the record for largest sale of a baseball NFT to-date!

Q: What is an “NFT”?

A: A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unit of data stored on a blockchain that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. NFTs can be used to represent unique ownership of photos, videos, audio, and other types of digital files. Candy creates NFTs as digital collectibles.

Q: What is a blockchain?

A: A blockchain is a type of database that uses “blocks” instead of tables to store information. In general, blockchain is referred to as a digital ledger that is extremely difficult to hack due to its duplication of transactions and dissemination of information across the entire network of computer systems.

Q: What does it mean to “Burn” my NFT?

A: Burning an NFT means removing it entirely from the Palm blockchain. When you burn your NFT, the transaction is irreversible. Burning can be used for a variety of reasons, and many platforms are still exploring its various use cases.

You will be able to burn a Candy NFT during designated "Burn Windows" which will be communicated beforehand to our community. Outside of the designated "burn windows", you will not be able to burn any of your Candy NFTs.

Q: Why would I burn a Candy NFT?

A: Burning is a common way to unlock a different NFT by giving up (burning) the NFT you already own.

As an example, if you own a 2021 Team Candy Jersey NFT, you will be able to burn this NFT for a different Candy x MLB NFT in the future. In less technical terms, this means you will be able to swap your 2021 Team Candy Jersey for a different Candy NFT in the future if you choose to do so.

We will make sure our community is completely clear on what NFT they will receive if they choose to burn a Candy NFT. You will never be put in a position to choose to burn a Candy NFT without knowing what you will receive in return.

Q: What blockchain is Candy building its infrastructure on?

A: Candy is using the Palm infrastructure to build out its marketplace. Palm is an ethereum sidechain. Candy chose to build on top of Palm infrastructure due to its token powered ecosystem, scalable infrastructure, and the commitment to the experience of their creators and collectors. Moreover, Candy chose Palm due to their mission to limit the environmental impact. Palm uses a consensus mechanism called IBFT-2, a rotating Proof-of-Authority consensus method which allows affordable transactions and nearly 0% carbon footprint. For more information on how Palm is leaving a near 0% carbon footprint, please visit here: https://palm.io/studio/on-gas-palms-commitment-to-sustainability/

Palm is a nice compliment to Ethereum L1. It allows for a quick, efficient, and clean marketplace for collectors to safely trade, buy, and sell verified Candy NFTs. Additionally it provides an option to transfer NFTs to the Ethereum mainnet and buy and sell on other popular marketplaces.
