César Geronimo enters his eighth season with the D-backs and fifth as Vice President, Latin American Scouting and Player Development.
Geronimo joined the D-backs following five seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals where he served as an international crosschecker. Prior to that, he spent 5 seasons with the Cleveland Indians as a crosschecker, area scout and Dominican Republic scouting supervisor. Among the players Geronimo was involved in signing are Randy Arozarena and Alex Reyes (Cardinals), Danny Salazar (Indians) and Sandy Alcantara (Marlins).
A native of the Dominican Republic, Geronimo attended Eckerd College and the University of Central Florida before playing four seasons in the Angels’ Minor League system from 1995-98. His father, César, was a member of the Cincinnati Reds' Big Red Machine and a 4-time Gold Glove winner during his 15-year playing career with the Astros, Reds and Royals.
He and his wife, Lisbany, have 2 sons, Cesar and Lian, and reside in Weston, Fla.
