PHOENIX -- Paul Goldschmidt hit career homer No. 200 in the first inning of the D-backs' 6-3 win over the Giants on Friday night at Chase Field.
With one out in the opening frame, Goldschmidt hit a 1-0 fastball from Chris Stratton to right field that carried over the fence to tie the game at 1.
"It's awesome to see guys do stuff like that," acting manager Jerry Narron said.
Goldschmidt ranks second on the D-backs' all-time home run list behind only Luis Gonzalez, who hit 224 homers while playing for Arizona from 1999-2006.
Individual milestones have never been important for Goldschmidt, who downplayed the significance of No. 200.
"I could care less or couldn't care less, however the statement goes," Goldschmidt said. "I'm just trying to go out there and help us win."
Might there be a time when he does reflect on it?
"When my career is over," he said.
Goldschmidt made his big league debut for the D-backs on Aug. 1, 2011, and hit his first home run one night later against the Giants' Timothy Lincecum at AT&T Park.
