Play Ball Fund Grant Program

The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation is devoted to youth sports and we are committed to helping grow baseball and softball leagues in Arizona. During the 2024 season, the D-backs Give Back Play Ball Fund will support the outstanding efforts of Arizona's dedicated parents, mentors and coaches to expand the game of baseball and softball by donating $60,000 to youth sports leagues.

Any Arizona youth team, league, or organization can apply for up to $1,000 to support player equipment, training for youth players or coaches, assistance with player fees or facility improvement upgrades. We are not able to support travel expenses or tournament fees with the Play Ball Fund. Up to ten (10) organizations will be selected to receive funding in each of the following months in 2024: April, May, June, July, August and September.

Only one grant per organization/team per year. Applications will be considered for the duration of the entry period. Applicant must be applying on behalf of a registered organization with a 501(c)3, school, municipality, or league affiliation in Arizona. Priority will be given to baseball and softball programs but other sports will be considered. Applicant must be 18 years or older and have a direct affiliation to the organization or team being nominated.

If the applicant is not a coach or administrator of the organization, the team or organization contact should be notified and a team/organization contact will be required.

The Play Ball Fund application is closed for 2024 and will reopen in January 2025. Please check back then to fill out your application.
