MLB Ballpark app - Overview
What is the MLB Ballpark app?
Ballpark is MLB's free, official app for mobile ticketing, and your secure and convenient way to instantly access Cubs tickets at Sloan Park via your mobile device.
What are the benefits of using the Ballpark app?
The MLB Ballpark app provides a convenient, secure way for fans to use and share Cubs tickets, allowing easy ticket management and entry into games at Sloan Park using a mobile device. It helps prevent lost or stolen tickets and provides up-to-date game time information.
Will the MLB Ballpark app feature rewards or exclusive benefits similar to those featured in other ballparks?
No. At this time, the MLB Ballpark app for Cubs tickets at Sloan Park will be used to provide Cubs fans a secure and convenient way to use mobile tickets. The Cubs may consider other Sloan Park-specific app features in the future.
What devices are compatible with the Ballpark app?
For Apple device users, please click here for information. For Android users, please click here for more information. If you do not have a supported device or need assistance, contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
MLB Ballpark app - Account Set Up & Linking
Do I need an MLB.com account?
Yes. When you download the MLB Ballpark app, you will need to create or log in with an MLB.com account. An MLB.com account is free and easy to create directly from the MLB Ballpark app or any SloanPark.com webpage from the top navigation bar.
Is my MLB.com account the same as my Cubs ticket account?
No. A ticket account is automatically created when you purchase Cubs tickets online or offline. You can link your ticket account and your Cubs.com/MLB.com account by following the instructions available here. Once your accounts are linked, you can use the many features and functionalities of both the MLB Ballpark and "My Cubs Tickets" to manage your tickets. Your account may already be linked. A list of linked accounts is available to view by clicking "Settings" and then selecting "Ticket Accounts."
How do I locate my Cubs ticket account?
Your Cubs ticket account is where your Cubs tickets are held. You are issued an account number (by email) and typically an email address is associated with that account. Use the email address associated with your Cubs ticket account to link that account with your MLB.com account. Please note the email address associated with your Cubs ticket account and your MLB.com account may be the same. If you are having trouble locating or accessing your ticket account, please contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
Why do I need to link my Cubs ticket account?
Since your MLB.com account and your ticket account are separate, in order for the app to find your tickets, you will have to identify an associated ticket account to retrieve your tickets in the MLB Ballpark app. The app will then link that ticket account to an MLB.com account.
How do I link my ticket account?
Tap the "Link Account" button then enter the email address tied to your Cubs ticket account. You will then receive an email requesting you to verify you own that email address. By clicking on the link sent to your email address, your Cubs ticket account will be linked to your MLB.com account. You also may link your Cubs ticket account within the MLB Ballpark app by clicking the "Settings" icon located at the top right of your screen within the "Today" tab.
What if I don't receive the confirmation email or my Cubs ticket account is not found?
Make sure you entered your email address correctly and it is the address associated with your Cubs ticket account. If you still do not receive your notification or your account is not located, please contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
I already linked my Cubs ticket account and MLB.com account. Do I need to link them again?
No. If you have already linked your Cubs ticket account and MLB.com account, the MLB Ballpark app will recognize that link and not ask you to link again. This account linking typically occurs when you buy tickets online or when managing your account in the "My Cubs Tickets" portal. A list of linked accounts is available by clicking on the "Settings" icon located at the top right of your screen within the "Today" tab and then selecting "Ticket Accounts."
How do I link multiple ticket accounts?
You can link another ticket account (e.g., for another MLB team) to the same MLB.com account by following the same process listed above.
How do I unlink a ticket account?
You can unlink any individual ticket account(s) from your MLB.com account by navigating to "Ticket Accounts" in the "Settings" section of the MLB Ballpark app.
What if the email address associated with my Cubs ticket account is different from the email address associated with my MLB.com account?
You can link any email address tied to your Cubs ticket account with your MLB.com account as long as you can receive emails at that address. If you cannot receive email at the address associated with your ticket account, contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
I just linked my MLB.com and Cubs ticket account(s). Why aren't my tickets showing up in the MLB Ballpark app?
First, you should refresh your Wallet by pulling down on the screen to see updated ticket inventory. Confirm you have linked the ticket account which holds the tickets you expect to see and are looking in the Wallet. The Wallet FAQs below have additional information about locating tickets, including which tickets might not appear within the app. If you are still having trouble finding tickets you think should be accessible within your MLB Ballpark app, contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.

Where can I see more event details about the game?
In the team page accessed via the bottom tab bar, you can find detailed information about that day's event.
Can I sell my tickets via the MLB Ballpark app?
If you wish to resell any tickets you've purchased directly from the Cubs, you may do so via your "My Cubs Tickets" account, the official ticket resale marketplace of the Chicago Cubs. Tickets may be forwarded via the MLB Ballpark app but resale functionality is not available at this time.
What if I cannot find tickets I purchased or tickets that were forwarded to me?
Refresh ticket inventory in the Wallet tab by pulling down. If they are not appearing, make sure that you have linked the correct ticket account associated with the ticket(s) you are expecting to see. See the "Account Set Up & Linking" section for instructions on linking your accounts. Also check that you are looking for tickets in the correct home team's view of the app. If your Cubs tickets were originally forwarded to you by another Ballpark app user, the original sender may have canceled the forward and you should check with the person who sent you the tickets. If you are still having difficulty locating mobile tickets you believe should be appearing in your Wallet, contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
Which types of tickets will be displayed in the MLB Ballpark app?
The MLB Ballpark app displays regular season, postseason, Spring Training and other event tickets within the Ticket Wallet. Tickets that have been forwarded will not show a barcode. There will be a message that the ticket has been forwarded with a cancel button in place of the barcode.
Will large group ticket purchases with 15 or more tickets and Party Deck tickets be listed in the Wallet in the MLB Ballpark app?
Yes. Click here for additional group or Party Deck information.
When will the tickets I purchase be listed in the Wallet of the MLB Ballpark app?
Once Cubs tickets are purchased via an exclusive presale or the general on-sale, your tickets will automatically appear in the Wallet within the MLB Ballpark app.
Can I still print my Cubs tickets at home?
No, to improve security and reduce the risk of ticket fraud, print-at-home tickets in any form are no longer accepted for entry at Sloan Park.
MLB Ballpark app - Mobile Ticket Barcode
What is a mobile ticket barcode?
Each ticket has a mobile ticket barcode that must be scanned for entry into Sloan Park via your mobile device. Within the Wallet, you can tap on an individual ticket to view its barcode. For entry to Sloan Park, present your mobile device with the mobile barcode open and available to scan.
How do I access the ticket to scan for entry?
Tap on an individual ticket from the Wallet to pull up the mobile ticket barco de. The Section/Row/Seat and barcode will be displayed along with access to the terms and conditions governing your ticket.
Why is my ticket barcode not showing in the MLB Ballpark app?
There are several reason why your barcode is not available, including you forwarded that ticket, a ticket forwarded to you was canceled and recalled, you are a group buyer or the ticket status has changed. For mailed tickets, the ticket barcode will not appear until those tickets have been printed and mailed to you.
For further assistance, contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270 for assistance.
I just forwarded a ticket via the MLB Ballpark app. Why do I still see it?
Your ticket, without the barcode, will remain in your Wallet until your forward is accepted by the recipient. If you wish to cancel the forward, you can do that directly from the ticket.
During what window of time can I forward tickets to friends?
You can forward tickets via the MLB Ballpark app from the moment you purchase them until two hours after the first pitch of that day's game as long as that ticket has not already been scanned in for entry at Sloan Park.
What should I do if I need to enter Sloan Park for the start of the game and the rest of my group is not here yet?
You can easily forward tickets to friends via the MLB Ballpark app up to two hours after the start of that day's game as long as the tickets have not already been scanned in for entry at Sloan Park.
Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?
No, screenshots of tickets will not be accepted for entry to Cubs games at Sloan Park. Mobile tickets purchased directly from the Cubs must be presented within the MLB Ballpark app. Fans may be asked to "refresh" their ticket in the MLB Ballpark app in order to prove it is valid. Copies of barcodes presented through other third-party applications, screenshots or print-outs will not be accepted at Sloan Park.
Can I use Apple Wallet for my Cubs tickets?
No.
What if I cannot see my tickets when trying to enter Sloan Park?
If your Cubs tickets were originally forwarded to you by another MLB Ballpark app user, the original sender may have canceled the forward and you should check with the person who sent you the tickets. If you have your correct ticket account linked and you are still having difficulty locating mobile tickets you believe should be appearing in your Wallet, contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270. You also may visit the Sloan Park Ticket Office.
Why won't my ticket barcode scan?
If your screen brightness is too low, the barcode may have difficulty being scanned. The MLB Ballpark app will automatically attempt to increase the brightness of your display or you can do so manually by following the instructions for your device. Please note, cracked screens may impact your barcode's ability to scan. The barcode displayed is accompanied by a number. If there are difficulties reading a valid barcode on a digital ticket displayed within MLB Ballpark app, visit the Sloan Park Ticket Office. Only mobile tickets generated from the MLB Ballpark app will be accepted. Copies of barcodes presented through other third-party applications, screenshots or print outs will not be accepted at Sloan Park.
What if I lose connectivity after I've retrieved my tickets?
The data associated with your tickets will be saved to a storage area on your phone. If you have previously retrieved details for tickets to a game and those tickets are still valid, they can be re-displayed out of this storage without re-establishing a connection. We recommend viewing and loading your tickets prior to arriving at Sloan Park to ensure they are stored regardless of connectivity.
If I access my tickets from the MLB Ballpark app, can I still have them printed at a Will Call window?
Since tickets retrieved within the MLB Ballpark app will now be considered printed, the tickets will not be available for pickup at Will Call. You should present the ticket displayed in the MLB Ballpark app on your mobile device for entry at the gate. If you are unable to access your ticket, go to a Ticket Office window for assistance on game day. If you have any questions, please contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
What do I do if my mobile device's battery dies?
Visit the nearest Sloan Park Ticket Office window for assistance.
MLB Ballpark app - Ticket Forwarding
What is Ticket Forwarding?
The MLB Ballpark app is an easy way to forward tickets to family, friends, colleagues, account partners and others with whom you wish to share your tickets.
How do I forward a ticket?
Select the ticket you wish to forward. You can then choose to "Forward Ticket" or "Forward Ticket via Link." Selecting "Forward Ticket" allows you to enter an email address or choose from your Address Book by tapping the plus button. You can then add the recipient's name (optional) and a message (optional) before tapping "Send" to complete the forward. If you wish to send by another method, you can tap "Forward Ticket via Link" which will provide you a unique link to share.
Will the MLB Ballpark app automatically link to the contacts that exist in My Cubs Tickets?
No. At this time, "My Cubs Tickets" contacts will not automatically link to the MLB Ballpark app. However, the MLB Ballpark app will automatically link to the address book and contacts in your mobile device.
How does "Forward Ticket via Link" work?
A unique link, which holds the key to your ticket, will be generated and you can distribute it as you see fit. Please only share this link with one person to whom you are forwarding your ticket. If you share the link with multiple recipients, whomever clicks that link and completes the "forward accept" process first will get that ticket.
What if I accidentally send the ticket to the wrong email address?
See "Can I cancel a Cubs ticket forward?" below for instructions on canceling the ticket forward. You can then resend the ticket to the correct email address.
How will my recipient know I forwarded tickets?
If you selected "Forward Ticket," both you (as the sender) and the recipient will receive an email confirming the action. The recipient will have a unique link in the email to accept the ticket. If you selected "Forward Ticket via Link," the recipient will receive the notification by whatever method you selected for delivering the link.
How do I accept a ticket forward?
You must click "Accept" from the email invitation you received. If you do not already have the MLB Ballpark app on your supported iOS or Android device, you will be prompted to download it.
I do not have a supported iOS or Android device. Can I still accept a ticket forward?
Yes, you can accept and receive your tickets in a standard web browser. Once a ticket forward has been accepted, contact Cubs Fan Services at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
What if the email address where I received the ticket forward is not the same as the email address associated with my MLB.com account?
The email address at which you received your tickets does not need to match the email address associated with your MLB.com account. However, these accounts do need to be linked. You can find instructions for linking accounts above.
Can I reject a ticket forward?
Yes, just click, "I do not want to accept this ticket" on the Ticket Accept webpage. This webpage is accessible only from the ticket forward email sent to the recipient.
If I receive a forwarded ticket, can I re-forward that ticket to another recipient?
Yes, a ticket can be forwarded to a new recipient from the MLB Ballpark app after it has been accepted by the original recipient. You (as the sender), the new recipient and previous recipient will receive an email confirming the action.
Can I cancel a Cubs ticket forward?
Yes, the sender can cancel a ticket forward for Cubs home games any time before the barcode has been scanned. This can be accomplished from the Wallet tab by selecting an individual ticket and tapping "Cancel" or by clicking on the Ticket Forward icon at the top of the Wallet tab. Select the specific Forward then tap "Cancel Forward." The recipient of the ticket you forwarded will be notified. If the ticket is forwarded again and the original sender cancels the forward, the second recipient will be notified and the ticket will disappear from their Wallet tab.
Can I cancel a Cubs ticket forward after it has been accepted?
Yes, the original ticket sender can cancel a ticket forward for a Cubs home game even after it has been accepted. The sender and recipient will be notified by email of this action and the ticket will disappear from the recipient's (or anyone they forwarded it to) Wallet tab. However, once the ticket has been scanned for entry, the forward cannot be canceled.
Can I cancel a Cubs ticket forward after it has been accepted and re-sent?
Yes, the original ticket sender can cancel the forward for a ticket to a Cubs home game regardless of how many times it has been re-forwarded as long as it has not been scanned for entry yet. The sender and original recipient will be notified by email of this action, and the ticket will disappear from the Wallet Tab and/or My Cubs Tickets account of whomever the ticket had last been forwarded to.
Can I transfer multiple Cubs tickets to a single account?
Yes. Tickets can be forwarded together from the same event or one ticket at a time.
Where can I find the status of all Cubs Ticket Forwards?
You can navigate to the Ticket Forward icon at the top of the Wallet tab. There, you will find all received and sent ticket forwards for your account.
What if I never received the Ticket Forward email?
If you are expecting to receive a ticket forward but were never notified by email, contact the sender. The sender can cancel the current Ticket Forward then re-send to you by email or share the ticket via link. If you or the sender are still having difficulties, contact us at [email protected] or 773-388-8270.
If I contact Fan Services, can they forward tickets via the MLB Ballpark app on my behalf?
No. If you wish to provide tickets to friends or family, contact Fan Services to discuss your Will Call option.
If the person I forward tickets to deletes the email they received to accept the ticket(s) before they click "Accept," what should I do?
The ticket owner should cancel their original ticket forward and then re-forward the ticket via the MLB Ballpark app so the recipient receives a new email through which to accept the ticket(s).
