Blue Jays ring in the Holi-Jays with a month of giving
The Blue Jays and Jays Care Foundation are celebrating Giving Tuesday and launching a Month of Giving by donating more than 2,000 snowsuits to Canadian children in need, and calling on fans to get involved
The Toronto Blue Jays are ringing in the Holi-Jays with a Month of Giving all December long! In a year filled with so many challenges, the Blue Jays and Jays Care Foundation are calling on fans to join in as we give back to our community this Holi-Jay season. The month of December will not only be filled with opportunities to give to those in need, but as a thank you, the Blue Jays are also giving back to fans with opportunities to win festive prizes all month long.
Faced with a tough winter ahead, many families in under-resourced communities are being forced to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table or warm winter clothes and holiday traditions. Blue Jays fans can help Jays Care spread the gift of joy, food, and warmth with our community this month by donating this Giving Tuesday and throughout the December Month of Giving at jayscare.com/donate. Your gift goes twice as far with TD matching $10,000 in fan donations! Here is what your contribution provides:
- Give Joy – $25 provides a child living with a disability with a fun and engaging eight-week virtual program this winter
- Give Food – $50 provides a holiday meal and children’s gifts for a family of five
- Give Warmth – $100 provides a warm winter outfit for a child in need, including a winter coat, snow pants, a hat, and mittens
In response to the devastating impact COVID-19 has had on our country’s under-resourced communities, Jays Care quickly adapted its youth-centric programming this spring and summer to address the changing needs of Canadian families when they needed it most, resulting in:
- 1,500 teachers, programmers, and volunteers trained
- More than 14,000 children and youth participating in regular and/or virtual programs
- 13,000 books provided to youth and families
- More than 2,000 equipment kits provided to children living with disabilities
We couldn’t do this without you – our fans – so to show our appreciation, the Blue Jays are excited to share Holi-Jays giveaways and festive fun all month long – follow @BlueJays on social and check bluejays.com/HoliJays for the latest.
