July 28: Cubs acquire 3B Isaac Paredes from Rays for 3B Christopher Morel, 2 prospects

A few days after trading Randy Arozarena, the Rays unload another big bat in the form of Paredes, who has 16 homers and a .792 OPS. A 2024 All-Star who is under club control through 2027, Paredes heads to Chicago's North Side in return for third baseman Christopher Morel and two prospects. Morel, 25, is still two years away from reaching arbitration. He entered Sunday batting .199 this season but has bopped 18 homers and possesses a bat that makes hard contact consistently. The Rays also receive right-handed pitcher Hunter Bigge, the Cubs' No. 29 prospect, as well as fellow righty Ty Johnson. Full story >>

July 28: Padres acquire RHP Jason Adam from Rays for 3 prospects

The Rays continue their Trade Deadline sale, sending Adam to the Padres for prospects Dylan Lesko, Homer Bush Jr. and J.D. Gonzalez. The 32-year-old Adam, who is controllable through 2026, will add to San Diego's high-leverage relief options. He recorded a 2.30 ERA with 24 saves and 194 strikeouts in 164 2/3 innings over three seasons with Tampa Bay. Full story >>

July 27: Mets acquire OF Jesse Winker from Nationals for RHP Tyler Stuart

The Mets addressed their need for a left-handed bat by acquiring Winker from Washington. Winker, who turns 31 on Aug. 17, is having a bounce-back season in 2024. After posting a .567 OPS in 61 games with the Brewers last year, he had a .793 OPS with 11 home runs in 101 games for the Nats this season. Full story >>

July 27: Phillies acquire RHP Carlos Estévez from Angels for LHP Samuel Aldegheri and RHP George Klassen

A day after acquiring outfielder Austin Hays from the Orioles, the Phillies filled another need by reaching a deal for Estévez. The 31-year-old closer, a free agent after this season, has a 2.38 ERA and 20 saves for Los Angeles. In return, the Angels snagged a pair of pitching prospects in the midst of strong seasons: lefty Samuel Aldegheri (the Phillies' No. 23 prospect) and righty George Klassen (No. 28). Full story >>

July 27: Red Sox acquire C Danny Jansen from Blue Jays for SS Eddinson Paulino, 3B Cutter Coffey and RHP Gilberto Batista

Boston added to a solid catching tandem of Connor Wong and Reese McGuire by picking up Jansen from an American League East foe in Toronto. Jansen, a .212 hitter with six homers in 61 games in 2024, will be a free agent after the season. In sell mode after shipping away relievers Yimi García and Nate Pearson, the Blue Jays will receive three Minor Leaguers in return, most notably Paulino -- Boston's No. 22 prospect. Full story >>

July 27: Brewers acquire RHP Nick Mears from Rockies for RHP Bradley Blalock and RHP Yujanyer Herrera

After landing starter Aaron Civale from the Rays on July 3, Milwaukee made another move to bolster its pitching staff. The Brewers saw something in Mears, who has a 5.56 ERA in 2024 but has struck out 57 batters in 45 1/3 innings. In return, Colorado received Blalock, the Brewers' No. 17 prospect, and Herrera, who is currently in High-A. Full story >>

July 27: Yankees acquire INF/OF Jazz Chisholm Jr. from Marlins for 2B/SS Jared Serna, C Agustin Ramirez and SS Abrahan Ramirez

The Yankees' first move of the 2024 Trade Deadline was a big one, as New York agreed to acquire Chisholm from Miami for a package of three prospects. The 2022 National League All-Star, who converted to center field, recently received reps at second base as the Marlins attempted to showcase his versatility ahead of a potential trade. That deal came to fruition Saturday as Miami sent Chisholm -- under club control through 2026 -- to the Bronx for three Minor Leaguers, including infielder Jared Serna (the Yankees' No. 19 prospect) and catcher Agustin Ramirez (No. 20). July 27: Cubs acquire RHP Nate Pearson from Blue Jays for INF Josh Rivera and OF Yohendrick Pinango

Although the Cubs could trade away some players prior to the Trade Deadline, they’ll take a chance on Pearson (controllable through 2026) as they look toward 2025 and beyond. The 27-year-old has dealt with a myriad of injuries during his career and owns a 5.21 ERA over 93 appearances (five starts), but he’s a former highly touted prospect who will now have a chance at a fresh start elsewhere. July 26: Mets acquire RHP Ryne Stanek from Mariners for OF Rhylan Thomas

The Mets beefed up their bullpen in a trade for Stanek, who has a 4.38 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 17 walks in 46 appearances this season. Stanek, who briefly took over Seattle's closer role earlier this season when Andrés Muñoz was sidelined with a back issue, recording seven saves, will join the fifth team of his eight-year big league career. In return, the Mariners acquired 24-year-old Minor League outfielder Thomas, who was the Mets' No. 30-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. Full story >>

July 26: Orioles acquire RHP Zach Eflin and cash from Rays for INF Mac Horvath, RHP Jackson Baumeister and OF Matthew Etzel

With three starting pitchers out for the year -- Kyle Bradish, John Means and Tyler Wells -- the Orioles struck a deal with an in-division foe to bolster their rotation. Eflin has a 4.09 ERA in 19 starts for Tampa Bay this season and is under contract through 2025. The right-hander finished sixth in American League Cy Young Award voting last season. In return, the Rays landed a pair of Orioles top 30 prospects in Horvath (team No. 10) and Baumeister (No. 17), both of whom are currently at the High-A level. July 26: Mariners acquire RHP Yimi García from Blue Jays for OF Jonatan Clase and C Jacob Sharp

García has been a lights-out arm in the back of the bullpen for Toronto and is a strong addition to a Mariners pitching staff with an MLB-best 3.41 ERA. Seattle has been without pitcher Matt Brash all season, and closer Andrés Muñoz has pitched through injury. The Mariners continue to be aggressive after landing Randy Arozarena in a deal with the Rays on Thursday night. On the other side of things, Toronto added Clase, the Mariners’ No. 10 prospect, who made his Major League debut this season. The Blue Jays also received Sharp, a 22-year-old catcher currently hitting .255 with six home runs and a .773 OPS in Single-A. Full story >>

July 26: Orioles acquire RHP Seranthony Domínguez and OF Cristian Pache from Phillies for OF Austin Hays

A pair of contenders made an interesting deal Friday. The American League East-leading Orioles added bullpen depth with Domínguez, who has a 4.75 ERA in 36 innings this season. The hard-throwing 29-year-old right-hander, who owns a 3.55 career ERA, will be a free agent after 2024. Baltimore also acquired Pache, a former top prospect for the Braves who is hitting .202/.288/.269 in 118 plate appearances this season. The Phillies filled a considerable need with Hays, an outfielder who can hit left-handed pitching. Hays has a .328/.394/.500 slash line against lefties in 2024 and is hitting .255 with three homers and a .711 OPS overall. Full story >>

July 26: Red Sox acquire LHP James Paxton from Dodgers for INF Moises Bolivar

With and back in the fold, the Dodgers moved on from Paxton, who was designated for assignment on Monday. The left-hander had been a serviceable rotation option for L.A. with a 4.43 ERA in 18 starts, although Paxton's strikeouts were down and he is tied for the National League lead in walks. The Red Sox were willing to reunite with the southpaw starter, who spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with Boston but saw limited action because of a long recovery from Tommy John surgery. In return, the Dodgers got back Bolivar, whom the Red Sox signed as an international free agent on Jan. 15. The 17-year-old Venezuelan shortstop posted a .270/.363/.427 slash line with three homers and 19 RBIs in 31 games for Boston's Rookie League affiliate. Full story >>

July 26: Mariners acquire OF Randy Arozarena from Rays for OF Aidan Smith, RHP Brody Hopkins and player to be named later

It's no secret that the Mariners are looking for help on offense, given that they finished play on Thursday ranked first in MLB in runs allowed per game but only 28th in runs scored per game. By acquiring Arozarena, they've taken an clear step to address that hole. Arozarena was the 2021 AL Rookie of the Year and a 2023 All-Star, but the 29-year-old has struggled this season, holding a career-low .211 batting average. But after a slow start, Arozarena has been turned it up since June 15, delivering an OPS of .947 with seven homers. For the Mariners, who are one game behind the Astros in the AL West race as of the end of play on Thursday, this will provide especially useful outfield depth following an ankle injury to . On the other side of the deal, the Rays are receiving MLB Pipeline's No. 12 (Smith) and No. 22 (Hopkins) prospects in the Mariners' system, along with another player to be named later. Full story >>

July 25: D-backs acquire LHP A.J. Puk from Marlins for 1B/3B Deyvison De Los Santos and OF Andrew Pintar

The D-backs addressed their need for another left-handed reliever -- Joe Mantiply had been Arizona's only southpaw out of the bullpen -- by adding Puk, a former top prospect who has a 4.30 ERA over 44 innings this season. The 29-year-old began the season in Miami's rotation but struggled to a 9.22 ERA. He made some changes to his repertoire and has been very good since then out of the bullpen, posting a 2.08 ERA in 28 appearances. De Los Santos was Arizona's No. 14 prospect and Pintar was ranked No. 30 in the D-backs' system. Full story >>

July 21: Brewers acquire LHP Tyler Jay from Mets for RHP TJ Shook

Initially selected by the Twins with the sixth overall Draft pick in 2015, Jay made his MLB debut with the Mets earlier this season and allowed four earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. In exchange for Jay, the Mets get back Shook, a 26-year-old righty with a lifetime 4.77 ERA in the Minors.

July 21: Giants acquire RHP Mike Baumann from Mariners for cash considerations

Baumann began this season with the Orioles but has now been dealt twice since late May. The righty has a 4.57 ERA over 112 career appearances in MLB.

July 15: Twins acquire INF Rylan Bannon from Mets for unknown compensation

An eighth-round Draft pick by the Dodgers in 2017, Bannon has played seven games at the MLB level for the Orioles, Braves and Astros. He hit .254 with 15 homers and an .866 OPS over 79 games for the Mets' Triple-A affiliate this season before being dealt to Minnesota.

July 13: Royals acquire RHP Hunter Harvey from Nationals for INF Cayden Wallace and Draft pick

The Royals, just a game back of an AL Wild Card spot, add an extra arm to their shaky bullpen, against which opponents have hit .257 in 2024, the second-worst mark in baseball behind the Rockies. The hard-throwing Harvey brings with him a 4.20 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched. The Nationals received Wallace, ranked the Royals' No. 2 prospect by MLB Pipeline, along with the 39th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Full story >>

July 9: Mets acquire RHP Phil Maton from Rays for player to be named later or cash

The Mets, whose relievers had given up 24 runs in 22 innings in July entering Tuesday's game, add Maton, who had a strong 2023 season in Houston but has struggled somewhat to find his footing in Tampa this season (4.58 ERA, 1.33 WHIP). The 31-year-old could aid in filling the gap left recently by the injury to right-hander Drew Smith, who is likely to require season-ending Tommy John surgery. Full story >>

July 8: Reds acquire OF Austin Slater and cash from Giants for LHP Alex Young

Missing a number of position players due to injuries, the Reds swung a deal for Slater, a 31-year-old right-handed hitter with a lifetime .254/.344/.391 slash. In exchange for the outfielder, the Giants get back Young, who briefly pitched for San Francisco in 2022 before being non-tendered that November. The 30-year-old left-hander has posted a 4.40 ERA over 264 career innings for the D-backs, Guardians, Giants and Reds. Full story >>

July 6: Red Sox acquire RHP Trey Wingenter from Tigers for RHP CJ Weins

Wingenter owns a 5.82 ERA over 90 appearances in MLB for the Padres and Tigers, though he has struck out 53 batters in 35 2/3 innings for Triple-A Toledo in 2024. Weins was a sixth-round Draft pick by the Red Sox in 2023.

July 3: Brewers acquire RHP Aaron Civale from Rays for SS Gregory Barrios

This move is primarily about the NL Central-leading Brewers being desperate to reinforce their injury-depleted rotation, which also recently added veteran Dallas Keuchel from the Mariners' Triple-A affiliate. The 29-year-old Civale got off to a terrific start for Cleveland last season, but since being traded to Tampa Bay just before the 2023 Deadline for first base prospect Kyle Manzardo, he had posted a 5.17 ERA over 27 starts for the Rays. Tampa Bay, which has its own rotation reinforcements nearing returns from the IL (Shane Baz, Jeffrey Springs), lands the 20-year-old Barrios, who is now ranked as the organization's No. 19 prospect by MLB Pipeline.
