Blue Jays promote Tinnish, Parker in front office

The Blue Jays have promoted Andrew Tinnish to assistant general manager and Brian Parker to director of amateur scouting.

Follow him on Twitter @zackmeisel.Tinnish, who started with the Toronto organization as an intern in 2001, will assist senior vice president and general manager Alex Anthopoulos with Major League operations. Tinnish had been director of amateur scouting since October 2009. Before that, he held the positions of baseball operations assistant, area scout, scouting coordinator and assistant scouting director.
Parker, who assumes Tinnish's role, joined the Blue Jays in 2009 as a professional scout. He was promoted to professional crosschecker in January. Parker, who began his baseball career in 1997, has worked for the Arizona Fall League and the Rockies, Expos and Nationals, for whom he held the titles of assistant director of scouting and director of baseball operations.
