Clayton Kershaw and Jason Heyward, Dodgers

Kershaw (left shoulder surgery) threw about 30 pitches in a bullpen session on Thursday, a positive step in the right direction for the left-hander. If everything checks out well afterward, the next step for Kershaw would be a simulated game likely at Dodger Stadium. After that, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he believes Kershaw would need about two or three rehab starts before he’s ready to return to the rotation.

Kiner-Falefa was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a left knee sprain. More >

Mize was placed on the 15-day IL Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.
