2024 Postseason Information and Ticket Guidelines
Major League Baseball Postseason Summary
The Wild Card Series will be a best-of-three game series consisting of two matchups per league where the Division Champion with the lowest winning percentage hosts the Wild Card Club with the lowest winning percentage and the other two Wild Card Clubs will face each other (with the higher-seeded Club hosting all Wild Card games in the matchup). The Division Champions with the two best records in each League will receive first-round byes.
Division Series: The Division Series (DS) format will be a best of five game series in a 2-2-1 format. The team with the higher seed will be awarded home-field advantage (Games 1, 2, and 5).
League Championship Series: The League Championship Series (LCS) format will be a best of seven game series in a 2-3-2 format. The team with the higher seed will be awarded home-field advantage (Games 1, 2, 6, and 7).
World Series: The World Series format will be the best of seven games in a 2-3-2 format. Home-field advantage (Games 1, 2, 6 and 7) will be awarded to the League Champion with the highest regular-season winning percentage, even if one Club is a Wild Card.
Opponents and home field advantage are dependent upon each team's regular season record. This may not be finalized until the last day of the regular season. Therefore, tickets for all possible playoff games are included in your Postseason ticket strip(s).
Pricing and Postseason Assignments
Full Season Ticket Member Payment Information
Please reference your Postseason ticket invoice located in your My Royals Tickets account for more detailed information regarding payment options. You are encouraged to take advantage of the most convenient way to pay for your Postseason ticket packages through your My Royals Tickets account. To purchase your Postseason ticket package, payment must be received no later than Friday, September 6, 2024. After this date seat location(s) will no longer be available and the opportunity to purchase Postseason ticket strip(s) can no longer be guaranteed.
Credits for any game(s) not played will be applied toward your 2025 Season Tickets at the conclusion of the Postseason. Additional convenience fees for your Postseason tickets are non-refundable.
Full Season Ticket Member Postseason Parking
If you purchased a 2024 regular season parking package, the option to purchase Postseason parking passes are included on your invoice based on the number of passes and parking location you had on your Season Ticket account in 2024. Best efforts are made to relocate as few parking assignments as possible; however, there may be parking demands that exist for the Postseason including commitments for Major League Baseball and its partners.
Postseason Digital Tickets via MLB Ballpark app
All Postseason tickets will be accessed and managed via the MLB Ballpark app. Entry into Kauffman Stadium for Postseason games will only be available digitally through the MLB Ballpark app.
Check Your Tickets
Please make sure to double-check your tickets before you leave for the game. You will need to have the correct numbered ticket that corresponds to the scheduled home game for the appropriate series. For the American League Division and Championship Series you will use the ticket labeled Home Game 1 for the first game played in Kansas City in each series. This game may not be the first game played in the series, but the first game played at home. Fans arriving without the correct tickets will not be admitted.
Game Date and Time
The dates and times for potential Postseason games played in Kansas City are yet to be determined. All area media outlets (royals.com, local radio, television and newspapers, etc.) will have details as they are announced.
Refunds
Should the Royals not qualify for the Postseason, or the Royals make the Postseason, and all games are not played, any Postseason credits for those games (and parking, if applicable) will automatically be applied towards your 2025 Season Tickets. If you prefer to have your credit refunded back to you, please complete the form at royals.com/refund by Friday, November 8, 2024.
Credit card charges will be refunded to the card used to pay for the Postseason ticket package. If you paid by cashier's check, certified check, money order or cash, a refund check will be issued to the Account Holder of Record listed on the Season Ticket account. Refunds will be processed within 6-8 weeks after November 8, 2024.
