Director -Player and Staff Engagement
Matt Marasco is in his seventh season as a member of the Royals front office, serving as the Director of Player and Staff Engagement. In this role, he oversees the programs and initiatives for players, coaches, and staff on leadership and organizational development. Matt provides leadership to develop, improve, and reinforce strategies and processes within Baseball Operations. He also oversees the group of Special Assistants that provide mentorship and personal development for players and staff members.
Matt began his work with the Royals in 2016 as the team’s Chaplain through Baseball Chapel. He served in that role for two seasons before transitioning into the Front Office to spearhead the department’s effort to develop and impact people.
Matt played baseball at Kansas State and Emporia State University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in health & human performance. Matt and his wife, Jenn, reside in Kansas City, with their sons, Titus and Bram, and daughters, Mabeline and Lottie.
