Royals Sustainability - Taking Big Swings

Our brand-new outfield garden, The Fountain Gardens will showcase one branch of our sustainability efforts inside the stadium. This beautiful outdoor plant nursery will help us prevent food waste within the ballpark as well as offer food to those who need it.

In collaboration with our Royals Sustainability partners, we were able to create The Fountain Gardens by repurposing and reusing. Aramark will be using the produce in recipes in premium areas around The K; remaining produce will be given to UYA kids and their families, furthering the importance of eating healthy and accessibility to fresh produce. Ag Partners Cooperative and Globally Responsible Production helped build and install the raised beds and greenhouse, while also providing the soil and plants growing in the garden itself. Evergy built and installed the fence by repurposing recycled power poles. Brummel Landscaping is donating and installing crushed granite and removing sod. Cultivate KC will be helping assist with management and providing volunteers throughout the season. Metropolitan Community College (MCC) will also be providing volunteers throughout the season.

We appreciate the valuable work our partners have done to help us bring The Fountain Gardens to life.
