Join the Boston Red Sox and the Cabo Verdean Community of New England in celebrating Cabo Verdean heritage and culture at Fenway Park on Thursday, August 29! Show your support as we honor the Cabo Verdean-American community of New England.
Ticket holders who purchase tickets through this special offer will receive a Red Sox Cabo Verdean jersey, available in sizes Adult Small to XL, with preferred sizes distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The 2024 Cabo Verdean jersey features a few key staples that embody the history of the Cabo Verdean culture. On the right sleeve, the 10 yellow stars around the Red Sox logo represent 10 beautiful islands that make up the country of Cabo Verde. On the left sleeve, sits Cabo Verde's national emblem. The volcano depicted on the back of the jersey symbolizes the volcanic origins of the Cabo Verde islands.
New England is proud to have a large population of Cabo Verdeans since the 18th century, dating back to the whaling industry with communities primarily concentrated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Rhode Island. The City of Boston and the City of Praia have historically maintained strong academic, cultural, and social ties, and will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year as Sister Cities.
Arrive early to enjoy live traditional Cabo Verdean performances and other festivities that showcase the culture of Cabo Verde.
