BOSTON, MA - The Boston Red Sox announced today that minor league left-handed pitcher Jay Groome will undergo ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction surgery (Tommy John) on his left elbow next week. The procedure will be performed on Tuesday, May 15 by Dr. Neal El Attrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, CA.
