Asian, Asian-American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month
The Boston Red Sox are proud to recognize and celebrate Asian, Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month throughout May.
AAPI Heritage Month is observed annually in the United States to celebrate the contributions that generations of Asians, Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders have made to American history, society, and culture. May marks two important milestones in AAPI history: the arrival in the United States of the first Japanese immigrants (May 7, 1843) and the contributions of Chinese workers to the building of the transcontinental railroad, completed on May 10, 1869.
The Red Sox are proud to honor and recognize the important contributions that Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander athletes and employees have made to our team and the game of baseball.
