Rays Expectations:
The Ray Team provides for a fun, safe and enjoyable experience at Steinbrenner Field. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Must be a team player
- Comfortable performing in front of large crowds
- Able to entertain in a family-oriented environment and interact with fans of all ages
- Extremely enthusiastic and outgoing while maintaining professionalism
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to respond to situations quickly and effectively
- Act as a positive representative for the Tampa Bay Rays at all times
- Preferred experience in cheer, acting, dance, pep squad, drill team and/or public speaking
Requirements:
- All candidates must be at least 18 years of age by January 4, 2025, and local to the Tampa Bay Area
- Applicants must successfully pass a criminal background check
- All team members must have flexible schedules and be available for all team meetings and practices, majority of games and appearances while on the team
- Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be comfortable working in large crowds. Noise levels in the work environment are frequently loud
- Able to work in inclement weather
Audition Process and Judging Criteria:
Hiring will be handled through an open audition process. Along with completing the online application, you must submit a 30-second video introduction of yourself and a 45-60-second talent or skills showcase video to [email protected]. Once both of these have been completed, a representative from the Rays will reach out to you regarding the next steps.
Candidates will be judged on the following:
- Personality and enthusiasm
- Professionalism and maturity
- Ability to positively represent the Rays brand
- Audition application answers
- Ability to work in a group and be a part of a team
- Dance and rhythm skills
