Arlington, Texas—The Texas Rangers are set to return home for a 10-game homestand, offering fans great baseball and meaningful moments that extend beyond the field.
The homestand runs from August 30 to September 8 and includes matchups against the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Angels. Throughout this stretch, the Rangers will celebrate a Hall of Fame Pitcher and host various community initiatives, including a Stand Up To Cancer night with American Airlines on September 7 and a Globe Life Grant presentation on September 8.
On Saturday, August 31, the Texas Rangers will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fergie Jenkins' 1974 season, when he secured his 20th win with a two-hit shutout against the Cleveland Indians at Arlington Stadium. Jenkins, a National Baseball of Famer and Texas Rangers Hall of Famer will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, honoring his legacy as one of baseball's all-time greats. In 1974, Jenkins set club records for wins, complete games, and innings pitched, earning AL Comeback Player of the Year and finishing second in Cy Young voting. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Rangers Hall of Fame in 2004.
