Two Youth Academy teams to compete in Five Tool Baseball Tournament during Memorial Day Weekend
The Texas Rangers Youth Academy will participate in the Memorial Day Weekend Five Tool DFW Kick Off Tournament from May 26-29.
Rangers Youth Academy teams will compete in the 15U and 18U divisions for the second consecutive year, facing off against talented rosters across North Texas. The full tournament schedule will be released next week.
Registered teams will open the tournament with pool play followed by elimination games to determine the eventual champions. In last year’s Five Tool DFW Kick Off Tournament, both Rangers Youth Academy teams finished their division in second place.
The Rangers’ 15U and 18U rosters feature top athletes identified through Rangers Nike RBI League play and performances at various events and seasonal programming sessions.
Nine Rangers Academy athletes receive High School awards
As the area high school baseball and softball seasons conclude, Texas Rangers Youth Academy athletes have started raking in personal and district accolades.
Nine Rangers Youth Academy athletes have received recognition thus far for their impressive performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

Naaman Forest High School – District 9-6A
- Jason Flores – Offensive Player of the Year (second consecutive year)
W.T. White High School – District 11-5A
- Leeanna Leon – All-District Second Team
- Madeleine Guillot – All-District Second Team
Red Oak High School – District 14-5A
- Destan Burks – Offensive Player of the Year (second consecutive year) & All-District Academic Team
- Trinyti Houston – All-District Academic Team
