Arlington, Texas— The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Chevron are partnering this year to launch a new grant program focused on funding organizations supporting youth in Midland and Odessa, Texas.

The Chevron / Texas Rangers Community Grants will support non-profit organizations, schools, or municipalities operating in the Midland–Odessa area that provide meaningful programming to children 18 and under through educational curriculum, afterschool programming, or youth sports initiatives.

“We are excited to join Chevron in showing both of our organizations’ commitment to the Midland–Odessa region with this program,” said Karin Morris, Texas Rangers senior vice president of community impact & executive director of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. “We look forward to reviewing the grant applications and awarding grants this fall.”

Qualified organizations are encouraged to submit a grant proposal at rangers.com/chevrongrants describing how their program can benefit from funding. The application will remain open through Friday, August 16.

“Supporting young people in Midland and Odessa exemplifies our commitment to our Permian Basin communities,” said Nicole Barber, public and government affairs manager for Chevron’s Mid-Continent business unit. “We’re eager to expand our support of nonprofit organizations serving our local youth by partnering with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation on this grant program. We’re hoping this program will help create “home run” impacts in the lives of our communities’ future leaders.”

After extensive review and consideration, winners will be notified of their selection in September and recognized during pre-game ceremonies at a Texas Rangers home game later that month.
