For the most part, the term "hit one out of the park" isn't used literally.

But that's what Rangers No. 2 prospect Sam Huff managed on Saturday for Double-A Frisco, launching a 502-foot home run that cleared the left-field bleachers at Riders Field. Just as impressive, the ball left his bat at a staggering 114 mph.

Huff played in his first non-rehab game with the RoughRiders on July 17 after missing the first two months of the season with a left hamstring strain. Saturday’s blast was his seventh of the season and his first since July 20.

Huff, MLB Pipeline's No. 7 catching prospect and No. 58 prospect overall, played in 10 games for the Rangers in 2020, tallying three homers, the longest of which traveled 410 feet.

Remarkably, Saturday's homer wasn't even the longest of the season for Huff. While rehabbing from right knee surgery, Huff crushed one 511 feet in an Arizona Complex League game on July 2.
