MLB’s Nike Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program continues to grow with nearly 200 leagues operating worldwide, and in 2023, announced a long-term partnership with global brand Nike to amplify the young talent competing on baseball and softball diamonds everywhere.

As paid travel ball and showcase opportunities increase in popularity, athletes from diverse and underserved communities are priced out of summer ball opportunities, thus limiting their development and access to the game.

The Nike RBI program aims to even the playing field by giving everyone a chance to pick up a glove and bat, stay active while school is out of session, and build on the valuable life lessons that can come from participating in a team sport.

At the Rangers Youth Academy, the Nike RBI League features several teams competing in the junior and senior baseball and softball divisions. Teams practice and play competitive games multiple days per week from mid-May through July and conclude each season with tournament play.

Top performers are also extended opportunities to try out for the Rangers Nike RBI All-Star baseball and softball teams that compete in MLB’s Southwest Regional Tournament, which in 2024 will take place at the Houston Astros Youth Academy.

Winning teams from each regional tournament then advance to the Nike RBI World Series in Vero Beach, Fla., to participate in a multi-day experience as they vie for the ultimate championship.

The impact of the Rangers Nike RBI League extends beyond the field as well, offering eligible participants nearing high school graduation access to scholarship applications, including the Rangers Nike RBI and MLB RBI for RBI scholarship programs.

Registration for the Rangers Nike RBI League senior division (16-18 years old) will remain open through May 31, while registration for the junior division (13-16 years old) will remain open through June 21.

Monday, May 13, will mark Opening Day for the 2024 Rangers Nike RBI League, with a handful of senior division games set to be played.
