Max Meyer, Miami’s No. 2 prospect and MLB’s No. 67 overall prospect by MLBPipeline, made his Major League debut July 16 vs. Philadelphia...In his debut, tossed 5.1 innings and allowed five runs on seven hits (two homers) with five strikeouts...Made a second start July 23 at Pittsburgh but exited after 0.2 innings with an injury...Underwent Tommy John surgery Aug. 9 and missed the remainder of the season...In 12 starts with Triple-A Jacksonville to start the year, went 3-4 with a 3.72 ERA (58.0 IP/24 ER). Struck out 69 batters against 19 walks...Made one rehab start after minor injury in May with Single-A Jupiter...Threw 5.0 no-hit innings April 12 at Triple-A Durham. Struck out a season-high eight batters.

2021

Made his professional debut with Double-A Pensacola on May 5 at Mississippi and allowed one hit, one walk and zero runs in 5.0 innings pitched with five strikeouts...In 22 total starts, posted a 2.27 ERA (111.0 IP/28 ER) with 42 walks and 130 strikeouts...Held batters to a .221 avg. and .348 slugging pct. with eight home runs allowed...Selected to the 2021 Futures Game. Faced two batters and allowed one walk in 0.1 inning... Posted a 2.41 ERA in 20 Double-A starts, the lowest-mark among qualified pitchers in the league. Ranked second in strikeouts (113), WHIP (1.23), opponents avg. (.225) and K/9 (10.1). 

2020

Selected by the Marlins in the first round (3rd overall) in the 2020 Draft out of the University of Minnesota. Tied Paul Molitor (1977) as the highest MLB Draft pick in Minnesota program history and the second-highest pick in Big Ten history...As a Junior in 2020, named an All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. Academic All-Big Ten. Named the Big Ten’s Most Impressive Pitcher for the 2020 season by D1Baseball. Made four starts for the Gophers on the mound, finishing with a team-low 1.95 ERA and team-high 46 strikeouts across 27.2 innings on the mound. Concluded the year tied for fifth in the nation in strikeouts (46) while leading the Big Ten in that category. Finished the season with a 14.96 K/9. Also played in 11 games including seven starts as a designated hitter. Hit .185 with one double, two runs scored, four RBI and a stolen base.
