Keaton and his wife, Kailey, were married on Nov. 5, 2022...Kailey graduated from Iowa State University and works in marketing for 7G Distributing LLC, a Budweiser distributor in Cedar Rapids...The couple met at a New Year’s Eve party in Iowa when Kailey let a drink slip from her hand and spill onto Keaton’s white shirt. Immediately smitten, Keaton found Kailey through social media and messaged her the next day. They married four years later...Winn attended Perkin Community High School in Packwood, Iowa, where he was all-district in football, baseball and basketball...Was also a 4x200 track state champion...As a member of the Panthers basketball team, Winn logged a record-breaking 26 rebounds in one game...Returned to Perkin during the 2023-24 offseason to have his baseball jersey number (23) retired...Winn still holds the school career record for ERA, as well as the distinction of having the only perfect game in school history...Grew up in Ollie, Iowa, a small town of just 201 residents in 58 households, according to the 2020 census...Winn has two sisters and a brother. The family has a small baseball field in their backyard, where Keaton played with his buddies...His main hobby is fishing. The moment baseball season ends, he grabs his fishing pole...His father, Chris, was born and raised in Ollie and works in agricultural drainage engineering, having taken over the business from his father...His mother, Lynn, is a registered nurse who, on the campus of University of Iowa, works at a rehab center for trauma patients (strokes, traumatic brain injuries and accidents).

2025

Started the year at Triple-A and made three starts before landing on the seven-day IL (right shoulder tendinitis) on April 22...Did not return to the active roster until just before the All-Star break with a rehab assignment between the ACL and San Jose...Returned to Triple-A on July 19...Appeared in seven games with SF exclusively out of the bullpen, posting a 4.50 ERA (five ER, 10.0 IP) with nine strikeouts...Prior to 2025, he had started 17 of his 21 games at the big league level...Overall, he was 1-1 with a 8.49 ERA (22 ER, 23.1 IP) in 14 games (three starts) with Triple-A...Batters were 7-for-23 (.304) with four extra-base hits off his splitter (72 total pitches) after they were 20-for-93 (.215) vs. the pitch with seven extra-base hits in 2024 (343 pitches)...Recalled from Sacramento on Aug. 15 with Ryan Walker going on the paternity list...Appeared in two games (Aug 16-17) out of the bullpen for SF (2.0 IP, H, BB, two K) and was optioned three days later...Recalled again on Aug. 26 with Randy Rodríguez hitting the IL and pitched in five more games for SF...Optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sept. 16 and finished the year with the River Cats.

2024

Made just 12 starts in his second Major League season after dealing with multiple injuries that sidelined him for most of the year...Went 3-8 with a 7.16 ERA across the 12 starts, posting a 1.37 WHIP and .268 opposing average...Was slowed in Spring Training by elbow soreness in late February and pitched in just two Cactus League games in late March...Made his first Opening Day roster and started nine games before making his first trip to the IL on May 17 with a right forearm strain...Winn sustained the injury in his start on May 14 vs. the Dodgers and was removed in the fifth inning...Underwent an MRI the next day which revealed a Grade 1 muscle strain...Made a rehab appearance in the Arizona Complex League on June 4 and worked 3.2 innings of relief...Reinstated on June 9 after missing 20 games and made another three starts for SF before landing in the IL once again on June 22 with right elbow inflammation...Transferred to the 60-day IL on July 24...Underwent season-ending surgery to reposition the ulnar nerve on July 29...The procedure was performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Steven Shin...Earned the win in three consecutive starts between April 17-28, limiting batters to one run and four hits or fewer in each of the three outings...Posted a 1.50 ERA (3 ER, 18.0 IP) with 15 strikeouts and 11 hits (.183 BAA) to go with his 3-0 record in those starts...Started the Rickwood Field game for SF in Birmingham, Ala....Opposing hitters had a 50.6% hard hit rate off of Winn...They also had a 93.1 mph average exit velocity.

2023

Started the year at Triple-A Sacramento and went 0-6 with a 4.81 ERA in 17 outings (14 starts) with the River Cats...Recalled on June 12 and made his Major League debut on June 13 at STL in relief, firing 4.0 innings and picking up the save...Became the third Major Leaguer since saves became an official stat in 1969 to pitch at least 4.0 innings and earn the save in his MLB debut...the other two are STL’s Zack Thompson on June 3, 2022 and BOS’ Bob Stanley on April 16, 1977 (Elias)...Grew up in Ollie, Iowa, about a four-hour drive from in St. Louis….had a bunch of family and friends from his hometown at his debut...Had two IL stints - the first came with Sacramento on July 29-Aug. 19 and the second with SF, when he missed nine games on the COVID IL from Sept. 20-29...Struck out nine batters on Sept. 3 vs. COL...he and teammate Harrison (11, 8/28 vs. CIN) became the first Giants rookie duo to each strike out nine or more in a game in the same season since 2003, when both Jesse Foppert (10, 6/11 at CWS and 7/20 vs. COL) and Jerome Williams (9, 8/1 at CIN) did so...Winn pitched at least 3.0 innings in all nine career outings…he became just one of three Giants rookies since 2010 to pitch at least 3.0 innings in each of his first nine career games (also: Andrew Suárez in 2018 and Shaun Anderson in 2019).

2022

Pitched at three different levels after missing 2021 recovering from Tommy John surgery...Started the year with Low-A San Jose and posted a 1-1 record with a 4.87 ERA over 13 appearances (11 starts)…fanned 55 batters over 40.2 innings (12.2 K/9) with the Giants...Promoted to High-A Eugene on June 28, where he made eight starts and was 3-2 with a 3.16 ERA....Earned another promotion, this time to Double-A Richmond, and made six starts for the Flying Squirrels...Went 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA and limited opponents to just six walks (1.8 BB/9) while striking out 24 in 30.1 innings...Overall, finished the season with a 6-6 record, 4.08 ERA and a 27.1% strikeout rate across three levels in the minors...Was selected to the Major League roster on Nov. 15.

2021

After not playing in 2020 due to there being no minor league season, Winn missed the entire ‘21 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
