Fired a 4-1 record in nine starts with a 2.63 ERA (14 ER/48.0 IP) with 34 strikeouts against 16 walks... In his May 17 start against Minnesota, left after one inning with right elbow pain before diagnosed with a right flexor pronator strain…underwent surgery in July for Grade 2 UCL sprain Started the second game of the season on March 31 against Arizona, spinning seven scoreless innings and giving up only three hits and one walk while striking out four while not factoring in the decision…notched at least one strikeout in all nine outing, including hitting a season-high six punchouts twice (Apr. 22 at Chicago-NL, May 6 at San Diego)…hurled a 3-1 record on the road with a 1.99 ERA (5 ER/22.2 IP) in four starts compared to a 1-0 record with a 3.20 ERA (9 ER/25.1 IP) in five starts.

Split season between ACL Dodgers, Triple-A Oklahoma City and Los Angeles Dodgers…pitched in one game, five games, and six games respectively as he was rehabbing from Tommy John surgery suffered on May 1, 2021...Struck out three batters in 2.0 innings in lone Arizona Complex League game…with Triple-A Oklahoma City, went 1-0 in 5 starts, posting a 1.89 ERA (4 ER/19.0 IP) and giving up four hits and two homers...Appeared in six Major League games and posted a 4.50 ERA (15 ER/30.0 IP), fanning 29 batters against 14 walks…pitched aggressively against Major League lefties holding them to a .148.

Started just five games this season before tearing his UCL on May 1…had Tommy John surgery 10 days later in Los Angeles (performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache)... Across his five appearances, the righty garnered a 1-1 record with a 2.74 ERA (7 ER/23.0 IP) and a 0.96 WHIP Recorded 35 punchouts against just six walks, limiting hitters to a .186/.247/.349 slash line...struck out a career-high 10 batters April 25 against San Diego…gave up just two hits over 6.0 solid innings.

Spent the entire season with the Dodgers, going 3-1 in 12 games (10 starts) and ranking among the NL leaders (min. 50.0 IP) in ERA (2.57, 8th), opponents’ batting average (.220, T-13th) and WHIP (1.09, T-12th).…ranked second among rookies in ERA (min. 40.0 IP)... Averaged 99.1 MPH on his four-seam fastball, the fastest among MLB pitchers (min. 250 pitches)...Was the Dodgers’ Opening Day starter vs. San Francisco after an injury sidelined Clay ton Kershaw, becoming the first rookie to start L A’s season-opener since Fernando Valenzuela in 1981…allowed one run on seven hits and struck out four in 4.1 innings and did not factor in the decision in the Dodgers’ 8-1 win...Appeared in seven games (three starts) during the Dodgers’ run to a World Championship, going 1-0 with a 4.22 ERA (5 ER/10.2 IP)…picked up the win in Game 1 of the NLDS vs. San Diego, striking out three in 2.0 hitless, scoreless innings of relief.

In his first season with Los Angeles, he went 2-3 with a 3.63 ERA (14 ER/34.2 IP) in 14 games (four starts), posting a 1.10 WHIP and striking out 32 batters...As a starter, he posted a 1-2 record with a 2.82 ERA (7 ER/22.1 IP), striking out 17 batters against only three walks while registering a 1.07 WHIP...Made 10 relief appearances, posting a 1-1 record with a 5.11 ERA (7 ER/12.1 IP) and 15 strikeouts Recorded a 10.0 inning scoreless inning streak from September 7-29, striking out 14 batters during that time...limited right-handed batters to a .188 average, compared to a .346 mark against lefties...made two relief appearances for the Dodgers against the Nationals during the NLDS, allowing one earned run in 3.1 innings while recording a strikeout...in the minors, split the season bet ween Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City, going a combined 6-5 with a 3.38 ERA (40 ER/106.2 IP) and 110 strikeouts...honored as a Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star with Double-A Tulsa and was also selected to the U.S. team for the 2019 Futures Game...earned Pitcher of the Week honors with Double-A Tulsa for the period ending on June 23 and then again on July 28 with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

May compiled his best season as a professional, going 9-5 with a 3.39 ERA with 122 strikeouts in 132.2 innings across Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Tulsa... Began the season with Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga, going 7-3 with a 3.29 ERA with 94 strikeouts in 98.1 innings...Set career-highs in ERA, WHIP (1.108) and batting average against (.241) Named California League Pitcher of the Week on May 27 after going 1-0 without allowing a run in five scoreless frames in the week of May 20th through the 27th...promoted to Double-A Tulsa on July 31 and finished the season with the Drillers...went 2-2 with a 3.67 ERA in six starts with Double-A Tulsa… dominated away from home, going 2-0 with a 1.7 7 ERA in three starts…limited hitters to a .130 batting average and 0.74 WHIP away from home.
