Tony Burns is part of a Group Sales team that has consistently been among the most productive in Major League baseball in terms of group ticket sales, including leading all MLB teams in group ticket sales in 2019. He helps manage a number of Phillies group sales efforts, including fundraising; Theme Nights; customer care and retention; generating new group business while also servicing existing clients; and providing customer service for his season ticket clients. Tony is also the Phillies representative for Major League Baseball's Commissioner's Community Initiative, which provides tickets to children and adults who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend a Major League Baseball game.
In addition to serving on The ALS United Mid-Atlantic Board of Directors, Tony has also served on the Phillies Phestival Steering Committee, the board of Phillies Charities, Inc. and currently helps coordinate Lou Gehrig Day, an MLB initiative that honors his legacy on the field and raises awareness about ALS throughout the world while also raising funds for patient research and care.
Tony graduated from Widener University in 1998 with a BA in Communication Studies, where he achieved Dean's list honors (1994-1998), he President's list of scholars (1996-1998) and served as President of the Lambda Pi Eta Honors Society. He joined the Phillies as an intern in the Phillies Group and Season Sales Office in November of 1998 and was hired as a Sales Representative in January of 2000. He also held the title of Coordinator, Group Sales before being promoted to Manager, Group Sales in January 2024.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Tony and his wife, Jamie, now reside in Marlton, NJ.
