What’s happening this weekend: Phillies vs. Cardinals, May 31-June 2

The Phillies are back home for a three-game set against the St. Louis Cardinals from Friday, May 31, to Sunday, June 2, at Citizens Bank Park. Here’s a look at some of the fan highlights surrounding the games:

1. On Friday, May 31, at 6:40 p.m., the Phillies will wear their Nike MLB City Connect uniforms for another Lights Up // Friday Night at the Bank. Plus, it’s the 16th annual Irish Heritage Celebration!

  • To help celebrate Irish Heritage, fans can enjoy a pregame performance from Celtic music band RUNA at the Third Base Plaza. Plus, students from eight local Irish dance schools will perform on the field.
  • That night’s national anthem will be sung by The Good Shepherd Singers choral group.
  • Fans, age 21 & over: Stop by the Miller Lite Friday Happy Hour at Miller Lite Liberty Landing, featuring specials until the first pitch.

2. The series continues on Saturday, June 1, at that night’s 7:15 p.m. game, which will be nationally televised on FOX. All children 14 and under will receive a London 2024 Double Decker Bus presented by SEI. Plus, Rothman Hometown Heroes from Marlton, NJ, will be honored!

  • Local teams will be taking over the ballpark as they parade on the field as part of that night’s Youth Baseball and Softball Celebration! Teams are encouraged to wear their uniforms for the chance to be shown on PhanaVision during the game.
  • Join the pre-game fun at the Budweiser Block Party, featuring DJ HBK, at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind section 148.
  • Take photos at the giant FOX/Topps Baseball Card on display outside the Third Base Gate, in support of the Tribute to the Negro Leagues MLB at Rickwood Field game on June 20 on FOX.
  • Also happening: Jill Evans, a Cherokee High School parent and nurse, along with Cherokee High School athletic trainer Karen Hengst, will have the honor of changing a base at the end of the third inning. The duo will be recognized for saving the life of a spectator who went into cardiac arrest while at a Cherokee High School’s girls basketball game on December 19, 2023.

3. On Sunday, June 2, at the 7:10 p.m. ESPN game, the Phillies will host ALS Awareness Day presented by Aslpundh**, in honor of MLB’s league-wide Lou Gehrig Day. The night will celebrate the Phillies’ 40-year partnership with** ALS United Mid-Atlantic, as well as raise funds and awareness to #StrikeOutALS. Full details here>>

  • Be in your seats by 6:45 p.m. for a special on-field tribute featuring an “ALS Lineup of Courage,” as those battling and affected by ALS line up on the field alongside Phillies players just before the national anthem.
  • Participants include ESPN Senior Writer Tim Kurkjian, whose brother, Matt, lost his battle with ALS in September 2023, and MLB Network’s Sarah Langs, who has bravely battled ALS since her diagnosis in 2021. Also participating will be several local ALS United Mid-Atlantic patients, as well as two members of the Phillies and Asplundh family who are battling ALS: Scott Asplundh, former Chairman of the Board/CEO for Asplundh, and Michael Brown, a former Phillies marketing intern.   • There will be a special ceremonial first pitch with ALS patient Scott Asplundh, who will have the honor of delivering the ceremonial ball, which will be thrown on his behalf by his family member Matt Asplundh, also Asplundh’s CEO. Asplundh will also make an on-field check presentation to support the efforts of ALS United Mid-Atlantic.
  • Also happening: An Asplundh representative will change a base (end of third inning) and ALS patients and caregivers will dance with the Phillie Phanatic (end of fifth inning).
  • How to #StrikeOutALS: Fans can help raise money for the cause by taking part in a Phillies Charities, Inc. Online Auction (happening now) with player and celebrity signed memorabilia (click here for a full listing of items), or by purchasing an ALS Awareness Theme Night Ticket, Phillies Charities, Inc. 50/50 Raffle, or grab bags, which will include Phillies autographed memorabilia for $35 each at the First Base Plaza. Since the Phillies teamed up with ALS United Mid**-**Atlantic to #StrikeOut ALS 40 years ago, more than $22 million has been raised for patient services and research.
  • Fans can receive complimentary face painting at the Yard before and during the game.

4. The Left Field Gate will now open early for Sunday home games!

  • Starting on June 2, the Left Field Gate will open 30 minutes prior to all other gates for Sunday home games. Fans will have early access to The Yard, Ashburn Alley, Miller Lite Liberty Landing, Coca-Cola Corner, the New Era Phillies Team Store and Pass and Stow.

5. Tickets are now on sale for Schwarber’s Block Party to support first responders and their families!

  • Outfielder Kyle Schwarber and his wife Paige will serve as hosts for Schwarber’s Block Party on Wednesday, June 19, 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Yards Brewing Company, continuing their support of first responders and their families through Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes.
  • Gate Openings: 5:35 p.m. on Friday, 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, 5:40 p.m. on Sunday (Left Field Gate at 5:10 p.m.).
  • Go-Ahead Entry: Enroll on the MLB Ballpark app for a free-flow ballpark entry experience that allows ticket holders the ability to enter the ballpark at full walking speed without stopping. Go-Ahead Entry lanes are located at the First Base, Third Base and Left Field Gates.
  • Access Tickets & More: Use the free MLB Ballpark app for your guide to Citizens Bank Park and to access tickets (including sports complex parking), forward tickets to friends, use the interactive concourse maps, enroll in Go-Ahead Entry and enjoy games.
  • Broadcast: Friday’s game will be on NBSCP. Saturday’s game will be broadcast exclusively on FOX, and Sunday’s game will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN. All games will be broadcast on 94 WIP and WTTM 1680. Friday’s game will also be available on nbcsportsphiladelphia.com and the NBC Sports app.
  • Mobile Ordering: Includes Manco & Manco @ Foundry Pizza, Miller Lite Liberty Landing, Pass and Stow and Shake Shack. Order your favorite menu items and skip the line when ordering through the MLB Ballpark App.
  • Bag Policy: In an effort to expedite entry, guests are prohibited from bringing non-clear bags, including backpacks and drawstring bags, into the ballpark. Only clutch purses and/or fanny packs (no larger than 5" x 7"), clear bags (no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"), medical bags and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park. All bags will be subject to inspection upon entry in accordance with Major League Baseball security regulations.
  • Uber RideShare Lot: Lot T is designated for Uber RideShare for all Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center events. Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area.
  • Parking: Please click here for a parking map. Parking for Phillies games is cashless. Methods of payment include credit/debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay). To expedite entry, pre-paid parking passes may also be purchased prior to the game.
