Phillies announce roster moves

Prior to tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Phillies announced the following roster moves:

  • Placed outfielder Brandon Marsh on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain
  • Selected the contract of outfielder David Dahl from triple-A Lehigh Valley
  • Transferred right-handed pitcher Michael Rucker to the 60-day injured list
  • Placed infielder Kody Clemens on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to 5/31) with low back spasms
  • Recalled infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson from Lehigh Valley

Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcements.

Marsh, 26, has slashed .265/.344/.426 (.770 OPS) in 52 games this season, going 43-for-162 with six doubles, one triple, six home runs, 26 RBI, eight stolen bases and 21 walks. This year, Marsh leads all National League left fielders in defensive runs saved with five.

Originally selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Marsh was acquired via trade by the Phillies on Aug. 2, 2022.

Dahl, 30, has played in 43 games for Lehigh Valley this year and has posted a .340/.416/.660 (1.076 OPS) slash line along with seven doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 26 RBI and 19 walks in 166 plate appearances. Defensively, Dahl has started 11 games in left field, three in right field and 26 as designated hitter.

Originally selected by the Colorado Rockies in the first round (10th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft, Dahl was signed by the Phillies as a minor league free agent on Feb. 19, 2024, and attended major league spring training as a non-roster invitee.

Clemens, 28, has appeared in 17 games across two stints with the Phillies this year and slashed .256/.293/.615 with a 153 OPS+, three doubles, one triple, three home runs and 10 RBI in 41 plate appearances.

Clemens was acquired by the Phillies in a trade with the Detroit Tigers on Jan. 7, 2023. He was originally selected by the Tigers in the third round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

Wilson, 29, has played in 51 games for Lehigh Valley this year and has slashed .211/.295/.389 in 220 plate appearances. Since May 1, he has posted a .832 OPS and hit seven home runs, which is tied for the eighth-most in the International League in that span.

Originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 17th round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Wilson was signed by the Phillies as a minor league free agent on Jan. 3, 2023.
