PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies resolved a couple of lingering questions when they released their National League Division Series roster on Saturday morning ahead of Game 1 against the Mets at Citizens Bank Park.

Weston Wilson edged out Cal Stevenson for the final reserve spot and left-hander Kolby Allard claimed the last bullpen spot. The rest of the 26-man roster -- which features 14 position players and 12 pitchers -- is as expected.

Though Stevenson had some big hits in his limited opportunities down the stretch, Wilson provides a bit more versatility -- as evidenced by the Phillies listing him as an infielder on their official roster. Plus, he gives manager Rob Thomson a solid pinch-hitting option against left-handed pitching.

Wilson slashed .341/.412/.614 (1.026 OPS) with seven extra-base hits in 51 plate appearances against southpaws this season. He also appeared at all three outfield spots as well as first base, second base and third base this season, while Stevenson was limited to the outfield.

As for the bullpen decision, Allard gives the Phillies some added length in the event of a long game. Since he's been stretched out as a starter, he’s capable of handling multiple innings, if needed.

"Just length," Thomson said when asked what the decision came down to. "He's going to probably give us the most length if we get into an extra-inning game -- the rules go back to Abner Doubleday rules [in the postseason] -- so I just wanted as much length as we could get."
