Kyle & Paige Schwarber Celebrate First Responders, Military Personnel and Families at Block Party and Field Day Events
This week, Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber, who is the son of a decorated police chief and part of a family with a long history of first responders, and his wife Paige, continued their ongoing support of first responders, military personnel and their families during two fun-filled Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes events: Schwarber’s Block Party and Schwarber’s Field Day.
Wednesday’s Block Party event was held at Yard Brewing Company in Philadelphia. Schwarber was joined by not only his teammates and coaches, but also over a hundred fans for this event to raise funds and give thanks to neighborhood heroes who give to the community every day. The event featured live music, delicious local food and silent and live auctions for fans and players to bid on.
On Thursday, Schwarber held his Field Day event at Citizens Bank Park, inviting several hundred first responders and their families to the ballpark on the team’s off-day. The special guests were treated to self-guided tours of the Phillies clubhouse and batting cages, as well as activities on the field including running the bases, walking the warning track, having a toss in the visitor’s bullpen and photos in the Phillies dugout.
Youngsters at Schwarber’s Field Day also enjoyed tons of fun at the Yard while climbing the rock wall, playing Wiffle Ball, launching foam Hatfield Phillies Franks and getting their faces painted. The Phillie Phanatic even stopped by to visit!
