Girls’ Construction Camp Takes Over Citizens Bank Park for Skilled Trades All-Star Program

Middle school and high school girls from the summer-long all-girls construction camp, MyWIC, were invited to attend the Skilled Trades All-Star Program at Citizens Bank Park, an exclusive behind-the-scenes event held during the team’s off-day on August 1.

Hosted by South Jersey-based facilities management firm NEST and the Phillies, the girls learned the intricacies of stadium operations, covering aspects from HVAC and groundskeeping to carpentry and maintenance. Students were also joined by members from Oak View Group (OVG), which oversees facility services for Citizens Bank Park.

The Skilled Trades All-Star Program with the Phillies seeks to illuminate the path for youth toward the essential roles in labor and skilled trades. Managing more than 60,000 retail locations, NEST is the pioneer of integrated facilities management.
