Schwarber (in an amazing fit), Harper make the college football rounds
Saturday’s college football pregame shows in Bloomington, Ind., and Columbus, Ohio, featured a double dose of Phillies sluggers.
On ESPN College Gameday, Kyle Schwarber was the celebrity guest picker and repped his alma mater, Indiana University, in just about every fashion. He came to the set wearing a batting helmet, an IU football jersey with the No. 10 -- Schwarber’s number when he was hitting homers for the Hoosiers -- and the candy stripe pants made famous by the university’s men’s basketball team.
At about the same time, about 200 miles to the east, Bryce Harper was chatting it up on the set of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff. Harper has become an avid Ohio State backer since that’s where his wife, Kayla, went to school.
This wasn’t Harper’s first experience on a college football pregame show. Back in 2018, he was a guest on ESPN’s show prior to that year’s Ohio State-Michigan rivalry game in Columbus. But Saturday’s experience was unique in one way: Harper ended his FOX appearance by crushing some dingers into the crowd.
