Softball Carpenter Cup
Presented by NikeCongratulations to Lehigh Valley, the 2024 Softball Carpenter Cup Champions! Lehigh Valley defeated Delaware South, 2-1, to claim their third Carpenter Cup Softball Championship.
The purpose of the Softball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike is to give the best high school players in the tri-state area the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of college scouts. The hope is that this tournament, like the baseball Carpenter Cup Classic, will be a catalyst for many players to receive scholarships or admission to some of the country's finest universities.

Carpenter Cup Details
There are 16 Softball Carpenter Cup franchises representing 20 leagues. They are:
- Philadelphia Public/AACA
- Berks County/Lancaster Lebanon
- Burlington County
- Chester County
- Delaware County
- Delaware North
- Delaware South
- Inter-Ac/Bicentennial
- Jersey Shore
- Lehigh Valley
- Mercer County
- Mid-Penn
- Olympic/Colonial
- Philadelphia Catholic
- Suburban One League
- Tri-Cape
Each franchise can carry and play up to 17 players.
- The teams are made up for freshman to juniors. No seniors are allowed.
- Your roster for each game must be completed and handed in 20 minutes prior to the game.
- The method a team is selected is up to each individual franchise. The team can be selected using each league's All-Star team or via tryouts.
- Franchises are only allowed three players from one school.
Pitchers can pitch a maximum of four innings in a regulation game. If the game extends into extra innings, the inning cap is lifted.
1. The Softball Carpenter Cup Executive Committee will determine rules of play. Franchises will not be able to question rules or rulings made by the Committee at any point.
2. The tournament will consist of 4 brackets with each team playing the other 3 teams in the bracket. The top 2 teams from each bracket will advance to a single elimination tournament on Day 3.
3. Pool Play: No new (top half) inning may start after 1 hours and 45 minutes have elapsed from the start of the game. Innings that start prior to 1 hour and 45 minutes must be completed.
4. All games will follow Federation rules. With the exception of the following:
* There will be a DP or FLEX player allowed but no EH.
* Courtesy runners will be allowed for the pitcher and catcher only. Courtesy runners must be a player who has not been in the game yet. The same runner cannot run for both the pitcher and the catcher. If you have used all of your players on your roster and would like to use a courtesy runner for the pitcher or catcher still you may use the last batted out as the courtesy runner.
* Pitching will follow ASA rules. The pitching distance is 43 feet.
5. International tiebreaker is in effect if the game is tied after the 7th inning and there is still time on the clock.
6. Pitchers can pitch a maximum of 4 innings in a regulation game. If the game goes into extra innings, a pitcher may pitch more than 4 innings.
7. Mercy Rule - A game will end any time after 5 innings, or after 4 ½ innings, if the team is 10 or more runs behind and has completed its turn at bat.
8. If a game is called because of rain or darkness and the home team is leading after 4½ innings or if the away team is leading after 5 innings the game will be considered a complete game.
All games will be played at the Softball Fields in FDR Park.

- Take the PA-611 N/BROAD STREET exit, EXIT 17, toward PATTISON AVE.
- Get in the left hand lanes and make a LEFT at the first light onto PATTISON AVENUE
- MAKE FIRST LEFT into FDR PARK
- Once in FDR PARK turn RIGHT onto the one way road and you will see the SOFTBALL FIELDS next to the tennis courts
FROM 76 EAST
- Take the PA-611/BROAD ST exit, EXIT 349, toward SPORTS COMPLEX
- Turn RIGHT onto S BROAD ST/PA-611 S.
- Turn RIGHT onto PATTISON AVE.
- MAKE FIRST LEFT into FDR PARK
- Once in FDR PARK turn RIGHT onto the one way road and you will see the SOFTBALL FIELDS next to the tennis courts
FROM NEW JERSEY (WALT WHITMAN BRIDGE)
- Take EXIT 349 toward PA-611/BROAD ST/SPORTS COMPLEX
- Turn LEFT onto S BROAD ST/PA-611 S.
- Turn RIGHT onto PATTISON AVE.
- MAKE FIRST LEFT into FDR PARK
- Once in FDR PARK turn RIGHT onto the one way road and you will see the SOFTBALL FIELDS next to the tennis courts
